Life continually asks us to step up—to a challenge, a change, a new season, or simply something we aren't sure we can do.

Life continually asks us to step up—to a challenge, a change, a new season, or simply something we aren't sure we can do. Right now, my challenge is waiting at my easel. That reminded me of Red Shoed Pony — Dancing Till Dawn, a painting that didn't begin with a horse at all. It began with colors mixing into greens, golds and murky browns. I began carving through the paint until a horse appeared. She wasn't working, so I kept going. Then I noticed the red near her feet. She needed red shoes. And once she had red shoes, I knew she needed someone watching her dance. That's how the second horse arrived. Life has seasons for growing, serving, grieving, waiting—and sometimes simply moving forward. When you feel tired or discouraged, perhaps re...

The Forgotten Mug of Coffee is what triggered the distraction that sent me down several criss crossing brain paths!

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 I Can Never Get Enough Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Have you ever wondered how many thoughts can run through your head at the same time? This morning after church, Hubby went back for a forgotten coffee cup. What I expected to be five minutes became nearly fifteen, so I stood beneath a tree and watched families pass by. I noticed children, exchanged greetings and discovered that apparently boots and dresses are VERY popular with teenage girls this year. Who knew? 😂 It reminded me how easily we become distracted. People. Food. Dogs. Traffic. Painting. Something someone said. Something we should have stopped thinking about three days ago. Then I looked at this horse from 2016. He has exactly one thing on his mind: whatever is in that feeder. Perhaps mindfulness isn't about stopping every wandering thought. Maybe it is learning to notice where our thoughts are taking us...

Life can get so busy that we spend more time thinking about all we need to do than actually doing any of it.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Crossing  Painting in Process Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Life can become so busy that we spend more time thinking about everything we need to do than actually doing any of it. This morning I gave myself three minutes. Three minutes later, the piles surrounding me were gone and my desk was clear. Sometimes finding a little peace—and even a little joy—begins that simply. Looking at an unfinished stage of my painting Crossing the County Line reminded me of another lesson. There are moments in the studio when pushing harder doesn't help. You have to stop, step away, breathe and allow yourself to find the quiet again. Tomorrow I'll share what happened when I returned to this painting. Sometimes joy isn't far away at all. Sometimes it is just across the line.   Elle PLEASE Read the complete Story HERE Search Words:  Laurie Pace, Elle Pace, Crossing the...

"Nothing like discovering a painting from 2007 and falling in love again with the colors and the unique conversation between two of the horses.”

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Falling into Winter Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Falling into Winter… My Summer Dream This morning brought a tiny Texas rain, old paintings rediscovered while cleaning out years of files, and thoughts about what it means to let go of some of the weight we've carried. Perhaps that's why my mind wandered north...to Newfoundland, to a place Terry has wanted to visit for years and a piece of his family's history waiting there. Maybe this season isn't about going backward at all. Maybe it's about keeping the treasures, releasing the weight, picking up the camera, and asking: Where haven't we been yet? Time is moving forward. Why wait?   Elle  Read the complete story at EllePace.com. Under Texas Stars   © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Some of our sweetest memories begin with music. Long before I became a professional artist, a little transistor radio filled my upstairs bedroom while I painted on a drafting board that served as my first easel. Looking back, I realize music, friendships, faith, and art were already weaving together the threads of a life I could never have imagined. On the Lamb Contemporary Horse Painting by Elle Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 On the Lamb Horse Painting Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   What fun it was to paint this beauty... a bright and brilliant horse painting.  The horses in this abstract painting are literally racing on the green spring grass... each trying to out run the other. It makes me smile and giggle to watch them and enjoy the beauty of palette knife painting at its best.  So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28 Palm Sunday, it was a beautiful service at Countryside Bible Church this morning.  Our grandson joined us there and spent the day with us.  Treasure him always.  He is going on 28 this summer.  I...
