"We have reverse weather in north Texas. Jan and Feb are usually our coldest months where we get winter normally in the 40s and 50s.  It is going to be in the eighties today.  I pulled a painting from my archive to share. Back in 2004-2010 I painted a handful of these, of which two were commissions that were larger.  There is something settling doing a landscape/seascape and tying in a sunrise or sunset.    I am sipping hot tea trying to clear the morning fog out of my head with the pressure of reversed fronts out of the south. Layers of color slowly over three days and I am almost done. I have to layer in some of the lighter blues this morning and then it will be done. There is no impasto in this painting, it is pure oil and will take years to cure out. The Thought : Powerful people are truly not very powerful, are they? There are those folks in your lives that play board games with a life or death attitude. They give new definition to "Playing to win." We used to live in Justin, Texas and it was pretty flat out there and not many trees. The horses were every where around us though and when I would get up at sunrise and sit on the back porch, this is what I saw every morning. I miss the country! This is oil on Canvas painted back in 2005. The Thought : Another song is playing in my brain... one from youth group 1969. Several of us would go and play our guitars at the USO in Dallas for the troops on Sunday. Candy Moser Hagan, now a well known Opera singer, and I would track downtown with our guitars and perform. Most are on panel board and all have thick paint. This one is in colors that are not normally in my palette. An old barn that was next to a small pond, the house was actually to the right further but out of my view. Reclaiming your worthiness is important to your heath and your family.
