Abstract Figurative Horse Painting At the Races by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

At the Races? Not for long...visit back tomorrow to see where this painting journeyed to. I turned a corner and climbed out of the box again. I use to paint nudes like these only usually one per painting... but then I decided to just paint today and this is the direction it went. I want to explore it more and see what else I can do with people. Maybe the next one won't be nudes exactly but just figures. BUT it does not stay like this so come back tomorrow to see how it evolves...from here. I decided it was too harsh to abrasive for me. It is one of my last images of Lady L on her bike with Bampa behind her helping her round her first corner. She had been riding very well in a straight line but we were introducing turns and rounding corners, something she had to practice to negotiate without tipping over. Square corners in life are all about efficiency and control.
