Every morning Terry and I still sit at our kitchen table over oatmeal and bananas and play two games of Chinese Checkers.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 At the Table by Laurie Pace   Growing older brings changes—some we welcome and some we certainly don't. But every morning Terry and I still sit at our kitchen table over oatmeal and bananas and play two games of Chinese Checkers.   We are fairly evenly matched. Our strategies? Not so much. 😊 This morning those colorful marbles reminded me that perhaps growing older isn't about desperately trying to remain young. It is about remaining open to life. Walk. Read. Laugh. Call someone you love. Eat your favorite breakfast. Wear something that makes you feel good. And every now and then, forget the chores for a few minutes and play. Isaiah 46:4 reminds us that even into old age and gray hairs, God is still the One who carries us. Today is another day we have been given. Enjoy it.  Elle Read the complete story at EllePace.com. Have you ever been exhausted and exhilarated at the same time?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Exhausted Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Some days leave us wonderfully exhausted—not because of work alone, but because they were filled with family, laughter, unexpected moments, and reminders of what really matters. This Sunday reminded me that success isn't measured by how much we accomplish, but by how deeply we love. Perhaps the richest days are the ones we never planned. Summer Daze with sun and fun ....

This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Lady L Wonder Keeps Us Young This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel, completely absorbed in painting at just three and a half years old. She had already begun seeing the world through an artist's eyes. Looking at her reminded me that children don't paint to impress anyone. They paint because they love to discover. Perhaps that's one of summer's greatest gifts. Wonder keeps us young. Gratitude keeps us at peace. Faith keeps us moving forward. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from slowing down long enough to see the world through the eyes of a child once again. Embracing the Ordinary

I almost wonder if that's how God works throughout our lives. © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Life is being lived!   Someone recently told me I seemed to be settling in again. As I looked back over today, I realized perhaps they were right. Pilates before sunrise, a morning walk, helping a friend, time with my son, a surprise shopping trip with my daughter-in-law, and the joyful news that one of my paintings was accepted into the Women Artists of the West National Exhibition.  None of those moments were extraordinary by themselves, but together they reminded me how grateful I am for this season of life. Sometimes rest isn't about slowing down. It's about recognizing God's blessings hidden in ordinary days. The Thought:   What do you invest your time in everyday? What exactly is your top priority? There has to be something you put in your heart, strength, direction and soul in doing daily.   I know a good friend of mine now living in Ohio and she gives it all 100 percent to her two little boys in her life.  Sometimes I have to remind her there is still herself and her husband that she needs to keep in focus as well.  It is so difficult with little ones to give back to yourself or to any other relationship.  I remember well those days of children ( and now we have a new 17 ...
