I love any type of water...  rain, rivers, ponds, lakes, the ocean... even sitting by a waterfall.  When we lived at the lake, my studio was about twenty feet across the back of the house overlooking both a 5 acre catfish pond and the main lake was to my left where I watched the sunset every evening. It was heavenly!! The negative part was constant water moccasins and copperheads. You had to be on watch where ever you stepped!  We all know the Bible is rich with powerful symbolism. Especially those snakes.  The one symbol that is important to me personally, is water. It represents faith, salvation, and provision, reminding me of its importance in both our physi...

Water, Water everywhere... is it in your life? Laurie Justus Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2022 a part of a painting.... WATER  by Laurie Pace   Shop other Available Artwork.   Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. The Water in Your Life We were on a trip returning from Saugerties, New York, driving through Pennsylvania when I spotted something that created a huge change in my life.  We were on a two lane road, (I do have a photo on my other computer), passing barns and older homes with wash hanging on the lines.. which included colorful quilts. As we turned a sharp curve/corner in the road and we slipped into the cover of woods. I had the window rolled down and begin to catch a glimmer in the tree line of tree trunks. It was a large brook with racing water tumbling over large rocks.  We followed parallel to the 'brook' stream for almost two full miles before it bent another direction. The spray of running water thr...

They understand that in desperate circumstances they may experience joy, and in jubilant circumstances they may feel regret. They know that any emotion will change. But because emotions are not the centerpiece of their lives, they do not pander to them. They create what they creat...
Boats at Sunrise by Laurie Justus Pace 4 x 6 inches Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas FRAMED. $75 SOLD Good Friday! I am starting out challenged today. I spent three hours on the phone with my baby brother tinkering with my computer issues. SO, three hours not painting on a day I normally paint. TODAY I WILL PAINT! I hope you all have a blessed weekend. We will be celebrating Tom's birthday this weekend. He is in the over fifty club...I will be cooking tomorrow for the party! Early Happy Birthday my dear friend! Grace, Laurie “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.”—Matthew 7:24-25
FALL KOI ONE, Contemporary Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD After a trip to the arboretum last weekend I came home with quite a few pictures to paint from. This is one of the koi that I took. GORGEOUS colors! Most of my koi are painted with blues and purples, this one is different in the cool greens of the pools at the arboretum. Today is a bit of painting this morning and then the house cleaning I did not finish yesterday. I did get the studio cleaned up though. Rachel came to visit from across the street while I was doing it. Sort of kept me on task too! I have been reading Louise Hay's new book "You can Heal your Life" . It has a remarkably simple view if one could keep focused on it. "Every moment of life is a new beginning point as we move from the old. This moment is a new point of beginning for me right here and right now. All is well in my world." Her first chapter is entitled "Life if Really Very Sim...
Midnight Seascape 18 X 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day It is Wednesday! All the paintings left for Wyoming...whew...one more thing behind me. I will be traveling some over the next week but will continue to post. I spent yesterday going over everything with the couple that will be staying at our home, house sitting and dog sitting. We have to make sure our animals are happy! Annie does not like the pet hotel. The pet Hotel does not like Paddy. So, we will let the dogs stay home! Now that summer has arrived we have to make sure all the trees and plants are watered too. Sometimes leaving home is a problem more than a joy. Maybe if we had a sprinkler system it might be easier. I will put that on my wish list. This painting is one of my favorite pull pieces with colors blending and merging into others. I use a thin palette knife to create this style and I am a lover of purples and blues... very restful to paint. Remember to rest in the Lord...trust Him to show you the w...
Bay Morning 18 X 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day. It is a glorious Sunday morning. Last night Terry and I drove into Dallas to attend an organ concert at St Paul United Church of Christ on Lover's Lane. It is an old German Congregation that has been in existence over 125 years I believe. The organ is a unique pipe organ. It is especially unique because it is in a small church, but it is unbelievable in sound. The guest artist was Bradley Welch . Born in Tennessee, he now lives in Dallas and is quite accomplished. Yes, we bought a CD and yes I will be painting by organ music this week. This is also the church Terry and I were married in many years ago. The posted painting was finished yesterday. It is heavily layered with paint and may take awhile to cure! But I had fun with the colors and the play of contrasts through out the painting. Today I am working on a commission piece...one is hydrangea for an upcoming anniversary gift. The hubby saw my last piece and graci...
