Sunflowers, Texas, Facebook and Social Media... God has got this all.

'Like a field of sunflowers'.” ― Fiona Valpy .”  Summer and Sun seem to be knitted together and the beauty of Sunflowers floods the streets and byways in the state of Texas. We have tall ones, short ones, skinny ones, fat ones.... lots of Sunflowers statewide.  As we get into August you begin to see the stress on these one happy stable flowers that have taken root and bloomed through the months...but August temps suck it all out of everything.  This upcoming election is doing a nice job of that as well. Media is sucking the life out of everything.  I do not want to hear or read about it or Covid 19.   Instead I am called to take my life far away from the worldly mess that keeps pulling us in emotionally. How many times a day are you on Facebook? How

Geraniums in Pots by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Flower Painting

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 BJ Pots   Sold, Oil on Canvas.  My mother-in-law died around 17 years ago. Part of her legacy to garden lives on in some wonderful clay pots in different colors that made their way into our lives then.  I had such fun painting two of these paintings back in 2007 using those pots with my geraniums in them.   Words of my Heart....When we are feeling insecure we reach out for someone's hand in comfort. All of us are needy in life and we seek something to bring us comfort.  Often we seek the wrong things in life.  It is only the Father that can refresh us and restore our balance in life.  Read more here at Words of my Heart. 'Bowl of Flowers' Floral Flower Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Bowl of Flowers' 5 x 7 inches  Acrylic on Canvas SOLD from the Blog...Thank you. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:  I have enjoyed picking flowers and putting them in vases and bowls and then painting them. The Thought:  Love overcomes fear.  It is part of being human that leaves us vulnerable to fear.  Our bodies are created to be on alert and ready to react to survive.  This is a built-in instinct in the human and in animals.     It is the fear feeling that triggers your heart to beat faster and your blood to surge through your body.  Some of us fear all of the time, and some of us fear rarely.  Different personalities handle survival differently and in accordance to how we view ourselves individually. More timid people will tend to have a quicker response to fear and flight.  More aggressive personalities will reason things out longer and retain calm longer before giving into fe

'Red and Yellow Roses' Mixed Medium on Canvas, Oil and Acrylic 18 x 27 inches Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: I am trying something new on my blog posts. I will give instructions for awhile underneath the paintings. Click on the painting one time and allow a window to open. There will be a small image. Click on the small image and it will become large. This is where I will be able to show close ups of the paintings. Once sold I will delete the link to the close ups. So if you like the painting, click it, wait for the small image to appear and click it again. You will have to back track to read my thought for the day. The Thought: Obsession with time. That is my huge issue these days. There are often not enough minutes in the day to complete my list. Yes, I made the list, God did not. It is "Laurie-made" not God made. While Terry was on vacation this past week, we had several philosophical discu

But take courage; I have conquered the world." John 16:33 Have you noticed the hay day the media has taken off on? John 9:3 As you can tell I have been adjusting things on the blog. I had noticed Jelaine's blog and loved her three column approach and when I wrote her, she sent me on to Sarah Trefny , who was kind enough to help me add my third column. What I still need to figure out, is how to adjust the type margins not to hit the edges... but I am way out of my knowledge area now. You will see adjustments as I play with it! Yesterday was catch-up day. I had clients to meet with at lunch; infact Morgan and Kelly came too and hopefully both Morgan and I will be able to do some art work for this project. It is a Doctors Office of the future, so it is definitely pulling at my heart. Currently the practice is 30 years young and at this point totally built t
Roses from my Garden Contemporary Floral Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Inquiries: Laurie This is the Day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Today is my dear mother's birthday. I tried to call a bit ago, but think she might still be asleep. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! The show went well last night. I sold three paintings that are paid for and two more that are to be paid for and picked up next week. I am happy as it covered the expenses for the trip with some left over! God is good! After the show we went to eat at a fabulous restaurant with the other two artists and spouses and the gallery owners, Rick and Hollee Armstrong. Rick and Hollee are such a strong duo both in their marriage, their family, their business and their lives as a whole. It was a treat to see them work together as the show came together and happened. Nocona Burgess and his wife, Danielle were in from Santa Fe and Carol Spielman and her husband Jim were in from Billings
SPRING FLOWERS for Mothers' Day Floral Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Contact me to purchase, please mention the title of the painting. Laurie Here is the size in a frame with a couch... it is a large oil painting. Size in this picture is not perfectly to scale. The painting is 30 x 30 inches. Yesterday was the LONGEST day. I literally worked from 5 a.m. until eleven last night and fell into bed. Terry got home just after midnight and here it is five forty two and I am blogging this morning. Not sure how intelligent the blog will be. Friday coming up next week is our CPS inspection. We were certified and ready to go at our last home in Justin last November and we moved. With the house in the situation it has been in, we could not redo all of our stuff until now. We still have much to do to meet the standards for the health inspection. I will paint this morning and then work on inside stuff this afternoon. Terry will be left with finishing walls where the
TINY IRIS Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS> THAN YOU!!! I am up. I am up. I am up. Terry is not. Terry is not. Terry is not. BUT he will be. We did all of our shipping to the Blanco gallery yesterday and I sent about 6 paintings out to a new collector in Nevada. SO we had a lot of work going out. Sometimes in life we are faced with some major life changing decisions. Sometimes we don't want to face them and we put them off. EVERY day we face challenges and minor decisions and some of those we do not want to deal with either. Many of us turn to our "mother" or our "best friend" to have a discussion about things. (Goes back to my brother's story about the pubs in the UK and how beneficial they are.) But there is always something that comes up that is even too difficult to put in words. We don't want others that love us to know what anguish is in our hearts and what pulls at our minds in the m
Gathering Memories Mother and Child Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU! Sunday finds me with LIGHT everywhere! EVERYWHERE....that work with the switches and all! I cannot believe the timing! On Sunday I have the light. Well, what that means is I have not excuse for cleaning now so that is on the list. It is spring so that makes it Spring Cleaning. Later today Morgan and Hillary are coming over to get together the plans for the TSA conference in Washington DC. They are helping to cut canvas...we grew in numbers from 15 to 30 and now final count is 40. EEEK. That is alot of painters at one time. The Lord will provide and I must place my trust in Him. Every day each of us greets what we left behind the night before. Sometimes that is just leftovers from dinner and sometimes that is hard core worry about something. The best would be to wake up and embrace the day and take it as it comes. Let the Lord worry about the leftovers. He is truly
DUTCH BLOOMS Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Looking a bit closer: SOLD thru Daily Painters. THANKS! JOY JOY JOY! This painting was pure Joy. I had been to Asel Art to pick up some light yellow paint and bought some big brushes. I used them on the back ground on this painting and then piled the paint dimensionally on the flowers. It is thick! The painting smiles at you when you look at it. Pure Joy. From a suggestion by someone that wanted a painting and missed it, I have added the Paypal buy it now button! Will see if this works I guess. Thinking back over the years I remember the words ACTS. I know many of you remember it is for praying. Adoration Confession Thanksgiving and Supplication. So many times when we rush to pray it is in desperation for a panic situation or a frantic need. Doing this too often you forget to thanks or to praise the Lord for His greatness. Remembering how to act with ACTS sometimes brings me back to ce
First Poppies Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 15 X 30 inches SOLD The wind is howling outside this morning. Our 90 degree temps are back in the thirties. Only in Texas! I saw some poppies in a garden this week and that prompted a fun painting of their brilliance. Yesterday Terry and I finished up replanting and re potting the garden room. We had purchased new pots for our roses that we brought from the country as well as his mother's rose that we have nurtured along. I will have to take pictures and share them this week. It is nice in there, a very peaceful retreat. The roses and azealas will thrive in their new soil. Re potting is a thought to consider for us today. Often as a plant grows older and there has been no weekly maintenance to feed and nourish it, it begins to get yellow leaves and even shriveled leaves. I feel that applies to us as well. We stumble along in life often neglecting our connection that is wide open with God. He waits so patiently to lend his ea
LATE ROSES ~ Floral Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD Egads, I have been sitting at this computer for an hour answering emails. I am just now getting to my blog. I HOPE HOPE HOPE to start painting. This painting was completed this weekend. Full of joy , life and color, thick thick paint adorns this canvas in a celebration of life still blooming in my roses as fall temperatures have arrived. A change in seasons again. My thoughts today remain focused on the families in Southern California. I cannot even imagine the sheer terror of the loss and the panic and the feeling of total helplessness. We all feel that way at times in our lives, but the horrific thought of my home burning to the ground and all my neighbors...to much to even begin to grasp. Please join me in prayer for each of them. Let's surround them with our prayers that God will hold them close in this journey. God will protect them and light the way a
Mini Peonies ~ Flowers in Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD This is a small version of a larger painting I did this summer. I had to do a commission piece similar and I did this as a warm up to get into the right rhythm for the curls! Rhythm seems to be the key word here. Last night I woke to a rumble vibration deep in the earth. I have never felt anything like it before. At first I thought it was a train on the nearby track rumbling, but it was not. This was deeper in the earth and I could feel it just like you would a deep bass note taking over the foundation, the floor, the furniture etc. It ended and I began to relax and it hit again. I knew then I was not dreaming. I have NO idea what it was. I asked Terry this morning if it could have been the impact testing they do with all the gas wells out here in the country...he was not sure, but I know that the sound waves were strong and relentless. Life seems to be th
BABY MAGNOLIAS ~ Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 6 x 6 inches oil on Panel FRAMED! $79.00 Contemporary Art for your Holiday This is one of my small paintings that I had framed at the Fabulous DUTCH ART GALLERY in Dallas. Priced to provide you a GREAT GIFT for someone in the upcoming holidays. This frame is a custom frame and the painting an original oil. Yesterday we had our Fire Inspection and did fine. YEAH. We left the house at eleven and stopped in at the Lone Star for the yummiest hamburgers west of Dallas and then headed in to start working at my Father in laws house. Just as we were arriving in Dallas our Realtor phoned wanting to find me. Someone was going to look at the house and she had no idea where we were or what was going on. I was able to reach Brendan to care for the dogs and we carried on with our job. Terry's cousin, Sandra, came to help. She and I had the kitchen cleared out in quick order and the bathrooms. We attacked the living room and den and they ar
Pot of Orange Poppies 24 x 24 Inches Oil with Acrylic Undercoats on Gallery Wrapped Canvas A Painting A Day Sunday dawns with thoughts of Jonathan's 10th birthday party today. I am gearing up. I NEED to be painting, But first things first...it will probably be tomorrow before I paint! This painting is NEW YORK at my show and is the cover of my summer book. This picture does not do it justice as it is layers of thick paint and dimensional overlays. Bottom layer is blue acrylic, everything else is oil. A tremendous painting with power. On this day I ask you to remember you too were created by the Father. You are filled with good and it is your challenge to pass this good on to all you pass today. Have reverence for His creation both in you and in all people. Grace, Laurie “For I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I s

It is truly a beautiful painting and I am hoping to find a new home for it! If not, it will hang here until the right one comes available. We returned early from Breckenridge. I spent part of yesterday morning in the ER with Altitude Sickness...I had gotten worse and suddenly I was totally disoriented. Thank goodness for Terry and our friends, Arlo and Jan from Arizona. They bundled me right to the ER and after checking me out I was on oxygen for about three hours as we- oops as THEY packed to descend the mountainous terrain. WOW. We missed out on our last afternoon and night together. We had not seen these wonderful friends in almost ten years. Jan has always been like my older sister and Arlo, gee, he is an original~! He and Terry could talk airplanes all day. (Arlo was in the airforce...) Jan and I, well w

Evening Waterlily 14 x 18 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Yesterday was a day of GRACE. Both my father in law and my dad were in two separate hospitals having heart related surgery. The Lord was with us as both of them came through with flying colors!!!! Relief and thanksgiving are still on our lips as we woke this morning. Terry and I are up early, TOO early since he will work until midnight tonight...but he is packing paintings that will travel to Wyoming for my show Friday. All systems go with the exception of another sinus headache and issues that may prohibit flying. I cannot even imagine trying to drive it in the time we have....so I am praying for healing right now. This painting was completed on Sunday. It is a relaxing simple breath of evening...cool colors and cooler moments! Smooth brushwork and delicate blendings add to the composition. As your life unfolds, remember to give thanks for everything in the journey. Grace, Laurie “He stood up to read, and the scroll
