"And if the house just keeps on winning I got a wildcard up my sleeve And if love keeps giving me lemons I'll just mix 'em in my drink And if the whole wide world stops singing And all the stars go dark I'll keep a light on in my soul Keep bluebird in my heart." From Miranda Lambert "Bluebird" What's Up God? Part 1 Have you ever felt 'led'  but was not sure where you were to go or why?  The past year I have learned to lean into the Lord almost minute by minute. I believe I have begun to succeed in retaining peace and calm when attacked by others or myself, or when a pity party tries to launch in my brain. We all seem to be easily led by our own thoughts into areas never previously examined. But are we aware when the Lord is trying to lead us somewhere? I have learned to let things happen with out trying to over control t...

We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen. Every day, God gives us the sun--and also one moment in which we have the ability to change everything that makes us unhappy. Every day, we try to pretend that we haven't perceived that moment, that it doesn't exist--that today is the same as yesterday and will be the same as tomorrow. But if people really pay attention to their everyday lives, they will discover t...

Progression Wolf Wildlife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on new Canadian Wolf Painting Commission SOLD 24 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas      ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Pruning There are times in the cycle of my roses that I have to prune them back. While I hate disrupting the growth and the blooms, it is the right thing to do.  At those times in life when we cannot see beyond our nose we lose sight of what can be.  Turning it over to the Lord and following the lead of Jesus encourages you to do your own 'pruning'.  We have to let go and walk away from things that we are comfortable with; things that appear to us to be perfect for our life. But truly are they? We soon realize the jewels that fill our 'crowns in our life" are only of this earth and not of heaven or of God. Taking off the "crown" we realize we are not the important person we thought we...
Curb Sitters Contemporary Art Children Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 6 x 6 Oil on Panel Contact me to purchase: Laurie " The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the definition of a true friend: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. " John 15:13-15 Best friends. Do you have a best friend? During different phases of your life, people seem to drift in and out of your journey. God has placed them there for different reasons, to accomplish for them and for you a connection which becomes part of your life story. We all have those "best friends" from elementary school, and maybe even different ones from high school. Most certainly you had different friends after you left home and maybe marr...
Elements of Surprise Contemporary Western Art Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches OIL on Canvas SOLD From the Blog, Thank you! " Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. " Psalm 19:14 Here is a slide show with close ups of the painting. Have you ever heard someone say, "Wishful thinking!"? I know today I was out in the garden cutting roses. I had high hopes of collecting a vase full for the weekend. That was literally wishful thinking. I found two roses, one yellow one from our Orphan Rose that belonged to Terry's mom, and one red one from my JFK rose bush. I also cruised by the peach tree and last year we had hoped to have a few peaches but it was newly planted... wishful thinking...ahah, this year that tree is loaded with peaches. I do have wishful thinking when it comes to adult children making it on their own. Hasn't happened with all of them yet. Als...
Painted Pony Contemporary Art Horse Daily Painting Palette Knife By Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for Commission work: Laurie "In the Morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation." Psalm 5:3 Have you spent some time yet this morning talking to the Lord? I have always felt morning to be a good time to speak from my heart undisturbed to Him. No phones ringing, no little people tugging at me; nothing to interrupt the flow of prayer and thoughts exchanged with Him. This early morning time is a beginning of the day and the beginning of my waking hours. By spending this time with Him early, it reinforces my direction for the day and places me in the place I need to be, listening. Too often I am always in prayer requesting, asking, searching, probing, pleading and tearfully in despair. Most likely I should have sat in silence focusing on Him alone and the gifts I already possess an...
