Three Horses on the Bridge, Horse Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Three on the Bridge 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Canvas SOLD This is not available because it does not exist... I worked it and did not like it and I had Terry scrub the canvas for me.... so stay tuned for new beginnings... a decision to depart and go in another direction.     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Where do we go from here? Stacey was here with Lady L for Easter dinner and our family gathering.  Everyone had left and we were loading the latest and greatest slide show of Lady L  painting and we were just talking. She had been thinking about how every one makes a list of change, new life at the end of the year as New Years rolls across.  She had decided maybe it was more appropriate to do it now.   I agreed with her. I told her now was the time to put it all at the foot of the cross. BUT you have to leave it there... you cannot pick it back up.

The White of an Angel Equine Horse Art Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

I do believe if He cares so tenderly for those little birds of the air, He cares for me.  When times get tough, He provides. It will not all come in one big chunk like the lottery, but it will be there, bit by bit and exactly what we need.   Reading in the bible in 1 Kings, Chapter 17, it is so simply laid out.   Elijah has traveled to Zarephath and God tol

'Purple Horse' Equine Art Horse Oil Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Purple Horse' 18 x 27 Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  I think it was the mood of purple that hazed over me as I started painting this black horse.  I didn't use much black.  I didn't think I like it and then I truly did like it as it developed it's very own cool personality. The Thought: It was a day yesterday of taking one step forward and two steps backwards .  I always anticipate Wednesdays to be a wash as I teach piano and guitar in the afternoon.  The day began calmly as I put in 45 minutes on the Wii...and then had breakfast with the daughter.  It went slowly downhill the next 30 minutes and then crashed a few times in the next hour.  A rainy day made traffic a nightmare at the school...ah but we were two minutes early and missed it all!  I was thanking God and singing on the way home until my cell phone rang and the daughter announced she did no

'Flying Three' Modern Equine Art Horse Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Flying Three' 24 x 36  Acrylic on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: You almost feeling like you are flying with these wild ponies.  Painted in dimensional layers of acrylic, this painting is a conversation piece plus color. The Thought:   Morgan mentioned that there is talk of continuing the $8000 bonus to new home buyers AND offering for Refinancing as well. Granted this is in the talk stage in the congress...but it is something to hope for as many folks are still facing foreclosure.  For others, this provides a time to buy that first house and have that $8000 to help with closing costs in your first purchase. Catch up with them on their blog:  www.mortexlending.blogspot.com .  Both of the boys blog daily and I throw in some thoughts as well.  I am in three solid years of daily blogging and have rarely missed a day. My mom calls if my blogs don't post. My daughter calls

'Two Pair' Pears Oil Painting, Fruit Art by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Two Pair' 18 x 24 x 2  Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  I need to take some better pictures as I shot this last night as I finished it.  The lighting was not good.  I love painting pears. There is something about giving character and color to each one. The Thought :  SORE.  Wii makes me sore when I over do it.  I started getting up earlier and I do 30-45 minutes of Wii fit now.  Then shower and then stumble achingly into the studio to start my day.  I puts me about an hour and a half behind from where I need to be when I take the daughter to school. I keep an image of good health in mind with trying to exercise more . I know it provides more energy once you re-coop from the workout...but I am tired now.  The good I am imagining will slowly become a reality as my fitness improves.  I can already tell a difference in flexibility when I am bending or reaching.

'Racing the Storm' Sailboat Painting by Laurie Pace

'Racing the Storm' 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase or Earthworks Art Gallery: Laurie Earthworks Art Gallery © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: This painting captured even more than I set out to capture. I wanted the boats and the wind... had not anticipated a change in the weather. The original sketch was in charcoal on canvas. Then I came in with acrylic paint to establish values. Morgan told me too much blue, too many mid tones... and then I took off with the loaded palette knife with lots of color playing into the blues...with pinks, violets, greens, yellows etc. The result was more amazing than I set out to paint. Reckless adventure seeing the clear skies on the horizon and racing toward it tacking back and forth in the wind to make forward progress. NEW NOTE : I entered this contest to win art supplies to donate to Covenant Kids, a part of the Foster program here in the North Texas Area. Please take a m

"Call of the Wild Horses" ©LPace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase. Laurie $495 © Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 2009 " Amazement seized all of them, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, 'We have seen strange things today. '" Luke 5:26 About the Painting: This is one of my thicker pulls of paint on canvas. The energy of the horses straining up and forward fighting for position is felt by first glance. Painted with a palette knife and Holbein Duo Oils, this painting has an appraised value of $1295. Thoughts today: It is going to be a long month. Wish it was time to take vacation. The work has started next door and there are men climbing and ripping the roof off. The noise level is moderate but it will be impossible for the baby to sleep once the construction starts. The work men are parked in front of our home making it impossible for our household to have guests. Stacey suggested cones out front. Sunday was t

Pink Peonies in a Crystal Vase ~ Flower Oil Painting by Laurie Pace

18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Palette Knife Painting Contact me to purchase: Laurie ©Laurie Pace Graphics One Design " The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom and whatever else you get, get insight ." Proverbs 4:7 A Painting A Day: This is the third in my light series of flowers. The beginnings of each of these are a study in values and light done in off shades of acrylic paint, totally different than final hues. This allows me to study the painting as I begin to pull in the oils by palette knife. First layer is a charcoal sketch blocking in the composition. Second layer is acrylic in blue, black, orange and white. Third, the final layer is oil pulled with the palette knife. My Thought for the Day: Okay, as you read this message this morning ...STOP. Stop and think about why you are here... here on this earth. Here with this family and friends... what is the true purpose and meaning of your life? You are made up of years of daily experiences that have molded you in
A Painting a Day ~ River Crossing ~ Abstract Horse Painting by Laurie Pace 20 x 24 x 2 inches Acrylic on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie " We are people of flesh and blood. That is why Jesus became one of us. " Hebrews 2:14 A Painting A Day : Contemporary Abstract Art , this painting embraces the contrast of color. Cool layers of blues were laid out on the canvas first, followed by the yellows. I knew the greens would emerge as the overlays began. The small accents of red and orange are like "spices" in your food. They bring out the movement of the composition accenting it just in balance to treat the eye and keep it exploring the painting. Golden Acrylics were used as paint; there was no impasto used...just thick paint. My Daily Thought: I know I have written before about my favorite phrase. "If People would just do their jobs...." That is my cry of frustration I can't seem to replace. I need to stop and put myself in the place of the person

Colossians 3:16 What is your attitude today? Let start this week with a positive attitude of gratitude. Affirming gratitude brings greater good into your own life. Proven fact. Gratitude is more than thankfulness; it is true awareness of God's presence in every person and every situation in life. Remember you are in Him now and He is good. He has your ultimate needs in mind as this day unfolds. Be grateful for such a loving Father and give thanks! Our Tink is coming today... her daddy has more medical tests...and we are ready to get in some more quality hugs and loves! We are full of joy! Keep the attitude of gratitude... Laurie "

Laurie Monday begins with daylight already through the studio windows. I am packing paintings this morning and Terry and I will meet Mom and my brother and sister-in-law for lunch. I think it is fish day. When I was asked to be a part of Earth Works Art Gallery in Penn Yan New York, I was totally blown away by the generosity of the owner, Billie Bauman. She built this gallery with a purpose to touch lives along the way. She was generous with her split with the artist and of her portion she donated 10-15% to the charity of the artist's choice. In the end the Gallery only gained about 25% to pay bills and cover salaries. The Gallery often has a tight budget, but the work it does multiplies out into the world through her continued generosity. Click here to see Earth Works Art Gallery Did
PINK Contemporary Art Flower Gerbera Daisy by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Saturday and good morning! I have been contemplating the last 24 hours on today's thought and was up and down on it until just this morning. It is subject well covered by many over and over again, but I will do it as a reminder, and perhaps it is meant to just touch one person today, only God knows. Terry and I have possibly made some unwise choices with all our moves from house to house. Each one had a good reason at the time, but none of them were for us. We are always looking out after others and trying to do what is good for the family. We have lived in 10 different houses in the past 19 years. One of those was a five year stay, so you can only imagine about the others. The negative was the toll it took on our kids, but we stayed in two school districts with all moves. Friends never changed, nor did family. The positive is that Terry and I both realize how unimportant a bri
DUCKS Palette Knife Painting DUCKS Oil by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD from the RED TREE GALLERY in Atascadero CA. Laurie Today is a good day to approach procrastination. I am sure none of you have that issue in your life. From the child that delays telling you they have homework so they can play longer over the weekend, to the husband that seems to magically forget there is a repair job to something in the house, and all the way back to you that thinks, "I can try meditating and praying tomorrow when I have more time, today is so full of things that must be done first." Tomorrow may never come and the putting off thing until "tomorrow" makes tomorrow into a thief that keeps things from happening. God calls each of us every day to do things for him and every day most of us put him off. There are verses in Luke which explicitly show all types of excuses from our business or work, our financial responsibilities and our family responsibilities that come to the front whe

First, I want to thank you for your prayers for Sharon. She traveled on in Spirit to live in the full embrace of the Lord. He added another angel to kingdom. DEEP MEMORY Horse Oil Painting with Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD before the paint was set an hour! Contact me for other work: Laurie Good morning Friends! It is five forty this morning as I begin this blog. I am determined to finish a painting after I finish this blog! Morgan is still asleep. We have a doctors appointment this morning to change out his dressings etc. around eight. Then he will be painting the rest of the day. The painting above was one I finished yesterday morning. I knew as I stepped back from it that it was special. I started another to finish today...but yesterday's has such depth to it's beginnings that it is almost alive and breathing with the spirit. Not mine but His that passes through me. All morning yesterday I emailed back and forth with someone concerning my work and purchasing some pieces. When we finally spoke on the phone, they chose the guitar six pack, a commission piece from Morgan and Through the Mist, a painting destined f
ALL IN POWER Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches Deep Gallery Wrap Contact me for pricing and mention the title: Laurie This painting was repainted... stay tuned for a new version! Yesterday we were working right along when the phone rang and it was Morgan, the youngest of our adult children. He isn't baked all the way yet, but I think it is time to put the timer on the oven to go off when he is done and walk away from the kitchen. We have seen him through more trials and situations than I would like to remember. I think that is why CPS sees us as STAR parents to be first on the list as FIRST CHOICE for each group of children we have looked at. It was a sleepless night for sure and I will be grouchy today. He laid his motorcycle down while riding it yesterday on the freeway. No, he doesn't have health insurance with the job he got four months ago, he did, but since he waits tables, his actual paycheck is NOT enough to cover the monthly fee
FALL COLLECTION Abstract Floral Paint Pull Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 12 x 24 inches Contact me to purchase, special pricing: Laurie SOLD THANK YOU!!! Sunday Morning and the house is quiet as I get Terry off to work. Later Mom and I will drive up to see Dad today. THEN upon arriving home, I am three days behind after being caught up after the summer, so I will be working late tonight and through the next few days. It is bad when I am out of paintings to post on my blog. We enjoyed our time with Mark Bryant. He boarded a plane late yesterday afternoon to head back to Nevada. I am laughing at the Tomato, TOMMAATO thing the long "a" sound or the "ah" sound. I do not pronounce Nev"ah"da correctly....it is Nev "a" da. I may have to work on that after 55 years of saying it incorrectly. The family reunion was all too fast. It was in a church we had never been to and we were surprised at the small turnout. I think some folks got lost. U

Blue Desert Horse Abstract Horse by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Acrylic on Canvas Contact: Laurie Yesterday I wrote about Liddle, the Scottish runner from the Paris Olympics years ago...After the Olympics were over he followed his Christian background and retraced his parents journey becoming a missionary in China. At that time WW II was in full force and he ended up in a concentration camp in China with a large number of children from the school and teachers. Thankfully he had sent his wife and children home to Canada just before he was imprisoned. He and the other teachers kept the children in the camp focused and busy. It was reported that the children knew no harm or depression from this incarceration because of Liddle and the other teachers. They continued to teach and guide the children through well planned days including worship, song and pray. He had them praying for the Japanese every morning quoting the bible that we must pray for our enemies and we must forgive th
