You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about..”  Haruki Murakami,  Kafka on the Shore. The Painting Her favorite place is Disney. It was a fun week adventure exploring this large painting. Her favorite dress with a cute curtesy and a smile was brought to life on the canvas. The haze of the background gives way to dreams at night before you fall asleep.  Forever young.  Grandchildren are a blessing and our future. The Story The sermon Robert Morris (from Gat...

They dream and pretend play and create worlds that are full of love and joy. As adults, we may not play as often as children but we still can play in moments of joyful abandon.  Age does not always have to count. SMILE... BREATHE in JOY.. the pure joy of being alive.  This painting was done back in 2010 of a pretty lit...

Are you Authentic? Are you Sincere? Roses are Red painting by Laurie Pace

Authentic in Life, in Word and in Deed?  We each have our very own  DNA. We also have our very own physical and spiritual nature, different from all others. Our experiences and responses to situations in life build that individuality in each of us.  So many times it is easy to get trapped trying to be what other people want you to be and you separate from your individuality. With the loss of individuality is the total loss of sincerity.  Make your smiles count; make you...
KRYSTA Contemporary Art Daily Painting Portrait of a Child by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas COMMISSION SOLD Contact me to paint someone special in your life: Laurie I was searching through pictures for my new book that I am compiling similar to this blog and came across "Krysta". She was one of my art students for 6 years and as she grew I used her often as a model. I think you can see why. She had those eyes that just held the world. This was painted four years ago but I wanted to share it! This is the type painting I LOVE doing but it takes weeks to finish one like this. When doing a painting for someone I pride myself in the personal touch department. PTD. It would be great if we taught PTD in the classroom. PTD would be responsible for teaching our children to do acts of kindness with a personal touch. Helping an elderly lady with her bags of groceries; walking the neighbor's dog; throwing your neighbor's newspaper up by their front do...
First Recital Acrylic Mixed Media Collage Piano and Child by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches Contact me to Purchase and mention the title of the painting. Laurie I do believe my daughter starts her day with my blog and goes into a panic mode when it is not up by seven a.m. I was busy again. I was watering plants in my garden room, sketching out paintings to work on this week, making a list for what has to be completed by my July 12th show in Jackson Wyoming at the Rare Gallery, checking for airline reservations, hotel reservations etc etc etc. BUT meanwhile I had been layering and working on the painting posted. It is a new trial and error thing with glazing over old music from great granddaddy Haskell. This particular music was marked 1909 with renewal in 1936. Pretty old music I might say. I chose the Song HAPPY BIRTHDAY, but not the one you are thinking of. This was for Mrs. Corinne Rider-Kelsey. I guess back then they hyphenated names too. The music was written by R Hunting...
