Behind me on the wall....

Behind me on the wall... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 UnNamed Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I could not ignore her, she has been hanging there for 5 months. The hanging wall is not exactly what it sounds like... most are paintings in progress... some left longer than others.  I watch them over the days, the weeks and the months. I stop mid step yesterday afternoon and locked eyes with her eyes. She was pleading for me to bring her to the easel. I ask myself what needs to change, what direction does she want to go? I won't know until she is there... and I brought her over.  At this moment...  She is right where you see her minus the tape and will be bringing in more mutted colors. Spring Winds.. Palette Knife Painting

SPRING WINDS © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Spring Winds Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Spring Winds | New Palette Knife Horse Painting This small 9 x 12 painting feels like motion captured in color. Spring Winds is layered with bold palette knife strokes—orange leading the energy, grounded by green, with touches of blue and purple moving throughout. Three horses emerge from the movement, woven into the paint rather than sitting on top of it. It’s vibrant. A little chaotic. Full of life. And somehow… it brings a sense of calm. Clearing After the Storm

The Clearing After the Storm – A Painting Reflection © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Clearing After the Storm 36 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The Clearing After the Storm is a 36 x 48 oil painting inspired by that powerful moment when darkness lifts and light returns. Three horses move through the landscape—one stepping fully into the light, the others following as the storm passes. The painting carries strong contrast, with deep blues holding the weight of the storm while light breaks across the surface. It reflects a familiar feeling—moving from tension into calm, from uncertainty into clarity. As life shifts between busy seasons and quiet moments, I’m reminded that there is always a return to balance. There is always a clearing. The Trial (Easter 1998)

To the Cross © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 The Trial Oil on Canvas   by Laurie Pace   This painting was created in 1998 by Laurie Pace and is in a private collection. Sharing a quote and a thought Easter Reflections: A Quiet Turning Over the past three weeks, I have found myself drawing closer to our Father in a way that feels both intentional and deeply needed. I’ve begun a new habit—one that has becomes a constant. Throughout the day, I turn my thoughts and prayers toward Him, asking not just for guidance, but for awareness… for the ability to listen. More often than not, the answer is simple: wait on Him. If I give Him the time and the space, His light will come. We live in a world that fills every moment. Running from place to place, constant noise, screens in front of us at all times—phones, television, distractions layered upon distractions. It is so easy to become consumed by it all without even realizing what we are ...

Back in the Studio with Knife in Hand

Back in the Studio, Knife in Hand © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Everlasting Oil on Canvas   by Laurie Pace   Back in the studio with oils and palette knife — and it feels like home again. This painting is available this morning on my website $199.  Just click on the painting above. This new small painting came to life almost instantly, built from fresh color pulled straight from the tubes and moved across the canvas without hesitation. The horse revealed itself in the motion — raw, immediate, and full of energy. I’m starting a new rhythm of smaller works — painting more often, staying in movement, and sharing them directly from the easel, sometimes while still wet. This is about stepping back into the paint… and letting it lead. See the full piece and story on my website. This time I did not plan it!

MID WEEK GLANCE It is happening.... There is something different happening in the studio right now… and I can feel it. I stepped back in with oils and my palette knife, and it was immediate — that familiar rhythm returned. The weight of the knife in my hand, the push and pull of paint across the surface… it felt like coming home. This time, I didn’t plan. I opened a fresh tube of paint — and of course it made a mess, oil spilling before color — but I didn’t stop. I just kept going. Color after color, laid down and moved instinctively across the canvas. No hesitation. No overworking. Just motion.  Nothing to connect you to on a blog... you can visit my website and see on the front page what I just started... and hope to finish in the later hours tonight.    Check back tomorrow for the full story!!    Elle Shop other Available Artwork.  Follow the Spirit of the Paint... with Laurie Pace               Shop...

Fair Flowers Blooming on the Canvas

Fair Flowers Cut in the Vase © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Fair Flowers Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Today I am sharing Fair Flowers. I had a student by the last name of Fair… and we were working out the patterns of beginning a painting and the completion over the layers.  After the first soft layers are in… you begin to develop the flowers and their placement.  This was titled fair flowers because a woman with that last name came to paint with me on Saturday. We went through the process of how to develop a flower painting.  Do you have favorite blooms? I would love to know your go to flower!  Blooms and color, seeding and growth and blooming are all apart of our beautiful world.  You can already tell it is almost done here… and it is very saturated with color interplaying together on the canvas with a brush and not a knife. I used an angular brush. For me it is an intens...
