"With thoughts of Christmas and the New Year, I think of the end of this year coming swiftly.  It is not like a sunset because of the cold of winter and cloudy skies... but it is like the sunset will bring in the next sunrise and 2023. I love painting sailboats, water and sunsets together... they bring joy to me. "  Starting Over? Often in December, I get really excited about the 'start over' of the next year and start making plans of things to do or to paint.  December is a blooming time in my head for what could be ahead. New ideas, new plans, new challenges, new worlds of thought and new races to run.  Despite the doomsday of most news outlets that things are changing for the...

This close up show the beauty of layering the paint on. Looking at it makes me want to paint today!! Maybe so! Meanwhile… we are working in the kitchen again.  A new gas line for the new stove arriving mid month and a new microwave as well.  Terry has emptied Cabinets to cut through sheetrock in prepara...

Terry is a good sailor when it comes to storms creeping up on the lake... and that comes from experience.  Life is that way as well. Keep your eyes on the Lord... follow where he leads ...

Lewis I cannot even remember the last time I wrote to you in my Art Journal.  The past two months have been filled with reflection on direction.  I am already contemplating my word for next year... one thought is, "Let it be"   Yes it is three words, but easy to remember.  I am still debating what shall serve me the best for grow...

Praise for the singing, Praise for the morning, Praise for them springing fresh from the world."  Steven Curtis Chapman In mid June this painting will be in a show opening in New York at a gallery in Watkins Glen. I wish I had time to paint a few more sailboats as they are very calming to paint and to have hanging around the studio.  The song by Steven Curtis Chapman is one of my favorites of course le...

Cavafy August sailing...sometimes fun with a strong southern wind.  Usually very warm so you want to sail at sunrise or sunset. I like sunrise. Terry gets the boat ready just before the sun breaks the horizon and we take off on the catamaran as the wind picks up with the sunrise.  Those are special mornings.   I pray whatever place you must "Sail" this day that there are good wind...

Living with anxiety is like living without the ability to live for yourself. I have lived this way most of my life... despite everything that I have done. The survival to push and succeed came from my parents. I started modeling at age 14... and did that through age 35.  Even with marriage, a husband and three children arriv...

Fear may build in your heart and the barometric pressure may begin to affect your calm replacing it with a building anxiety.  NOW is the time to decide how to funnel this energy into productive time.   We face storms daily in our lives physically or mentally.  What is important is how ...
