White Hydrangeas in Texas Heat — Rediscovering the Paintings Waiting Within

Instead of looking backward, I began seeing paintings waiting to be created. White hydrangeas blooming in cool northern summers reminded me of the ones we struggle to keep alive through the relentless Texas heat. Every year, Terry faithfully waters, shades, and nurtures them, reminding me that beauty often requires patience and care. As I continued scrolling through years of photographs, I realized I wasn't simply revisiting memories—I was rediscovering inspiration. Rivers, forests, horses, flowers, wildlife, and quiet moments I had forgotten are now becoming the foundation for future paintings. Perhaps we all need to ask...

Usually it was 8 x 10 and I can count on one hand how many of those I painted.  This pretty horse was painted over the last 8-10 days including the drawing, redrawing and contemplation and painting and more painting!  As you know it has been almost 2 full years since I have been actively painting or blogging even. With the illness and death of my mom and my own injury to my right arm, and then a family member struggling... we have been traveling a season that has strengthened our faith.
