This painting "Under Texas Stars" is one I totally forgot about having the deep blue backgrounds.  I painted this in 2014 and it sold immediately after I placed it on my website.  Texas is a wide open state with a few glitches called Dallas, Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston etc.  Those big cities are so bright they often outshine the stars where it is nothing but city lights.  The night sky in Texas is incredible. The stars seem brighter and larger than anywhere despite being further south!   When we lived at the lake, I have shared often the peace of the night sky and NO airplanes overhead. I did find the final photo of the bubble Horses!   It originally went to a show at Mirada in Denver but traveled to California and sold from The La Jolla Gallery back four years ago. Layers of color and overlays create the entire painting, keeping part of the realism and loosing it to abstract shapes throughout.  I always find the sooner I drop trying to control a painting's direction, the better it is. I have to cross reference which horses because these were photos off my iphone in 2016 the first year in the smaller house and smaller studio!  Change  There is much to think about and write about. This painting started with a conversation on the flat side of the canvas.  I rotated it over and over and saw many things and shared it on my FB page and everyone made comments about what they saw in it!! You will have to go check it out... From Walrus, to turtles to wolves to more, and I even found a face of a man!!! I was honored this painting sold the first day I put it up.  This is gift buying time and I hope to see increase a bit in sales for the next few months. I better get busy and paint... right? WHERE have I been? Gracious, I was hit with Vertigo really bad and two days into it, a spider bite on my small toe where it connects with the foot. That was three weeks ago and I am still treating it.  Barefoot or flip flops and that does not mesh will with Vertig
