Always on the run? Always worried things are catching up to you and you have to run faster. Early morning we start out on a slow pace... Looking around and taking in our surroundings. The sun has broken through with morning light and we are newly awakened to the day. We begin our day and seem to fall right in line behind others, following their path and their way. It may not even be the direction we are suppose to be traveling, but it seems safe, others are doing it too.  We stay sheltered and hidden in the shadows hoping no one will single us out. Abstract Horse Painting Blue Boy 2 by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Boy 2 8 x 10   Oil on Canvas   SOLD    © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Short blog as we have a packed day preparing for our trip.  The housesitter is due today and we have much in front of us. Annie's health has failed rapidly the past few days and we are faced with putting her down before we leave. It hurts but I know that is best for my dear dog.  She has been with me for almost 13 years.  Right now she lays on the floor at my feet in front of the fan. She cannot seem to stay still. She rises every 5-10 minutes and paces around and then settles back down again.  I thought it was the veggies Terry fed the dogs but I think her health is going rapidly. Excess drinking of water is the other thing that is occurring. God is good in all He has in His plans. Even with things we consider to be negative, He has positive things that will grow out of it. It may not be for us, but for someone that knows us and loves us. We serve in our lifetimes as we bring other

Contemporary Horse Painting Midnight Run by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Midnight Run Gorgeous Blue and Purple Horse Painting! Sold yesterday.       30 x 20 Inches  Oil on Canvas       © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Midnight Hour Seems like in the sixties Midnight Hour was important in my life and in the music of the day.  Midnight was usually my curfew at night.  Midnight hour was the time to be home or be grounded.  When I listen to music from that era the phrase is used often in the lyrics. What makes midnight so different than noontime?   Wilson Pickett wrote that first well known song in 1965... In the Midnight Hour. In 1985 there was a show In the Midnight Hour.   It was a badly rated comedy horror romance. I am glad I missed that one. Even in the Bible it mentions the midnight hour. At midnight you must walk in the light of the Lord. When darkness comes and the midnight hour arrives, call upon the Lord in prayer and praise. Watch the earth shake and movement happen. Sometimes when we stay up late, I love my midnight hour

Progress on Racing the Sunset, Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Empty Tubes and Full Tummies

Progression on Racing the Sunset 3 ft by 4 ft  Oil on Canvas       Contact me for your own painting. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011   It has quite a ways to go yet ... hard to tell the prepainted blue background from what is evolving on the canvas. So stay with me for hopefully another slide show tomorrow. It was cold yesterday when I got up so I started the two small heaters I have in the studio to warm it up.  Terry had not slept well last night, so he was sleeping as I answered email... waiting for the warmth to fill the space where I paint.   There are times when the need to paint overcomes the cold, but with sleet falling outside early, I knew snow would follow, and it did.  As I finished up my computer work I felt like a kid wanting to hurry and finish my homework so I could go play.. . play in my paints.  No more thoughts of Mr Tax Collector that wants me to pay tax on my 'play' stuff... just thoughts of thick b

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website     Painted Ponies    Morning has broken with reflections of yesterday and our trip.   The first word that came to mind as we drove north/northwest was the word obstacles. Driving up to Bogota from Mt Vernon is about 25 miles from our place. We then turn northwest toward Paris Texas.  That is where it came to mind.  Two lane road with speed limit of 70.  We are behind a truck pulling a very very large red combine on a trailer.  He kept trying to pull partially off on the side of the road but oncoming traffic was too thick to chance it.  We got around him finally and then we encountered someone's new house ( Modular home) being trucked up Hwy 271.  Not only did you have the truck pulling the long trailer bed with the house on it..(It had a pretty green roof and shutters) you had a follow truck with blin

Took several days of drying layers to get there but I arrived. The Thought:   The Influence of a Mother.    That could be several novels, books, sets of encyclopedias (Do some of you know what those even are?) When Eve was 'blessed' with the "curse" of childbirth, she in turn became the "deliverer", bring forth children.   Eve knew of Satan from her experience in the Garden of Eden and she was aware of spiritual warfare.  It would fall to Eve to bring her children up in God's great love and teach them to be alert as Satan would continue to find a way into their lives. Look what happened with Jochebed, Moses' mother.  She rejoiced with the birth of a son, only to know she would lose him.  She hid him for

Job 11:16 Ask any mother with grown children to talk about when they were in labor giving birth to their children and they will remember all the funny unique things, including the joy of the baby's arrival, but not very many will remember the vivid pain of labor and delivery. The growing years of that child will produce many painful situations as they struggle toward independence. I think of what Job went through in the bible and know that there was a time after it all happened, that he would remember it without hurt, pain and loss. The devil caused Job's issues, but Job did not know that and wondered why God was doing it all to him. Job's friends did not believe God would do these things either unless Job was a bad pe
