First Issue Cfai.co Visual Language International Voices by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

First Issue of Visual Language cfai.co Featuring the artwork on the cover of Daily Painter Angela Hardy , and inside coverage of Judy Crowe , Gwen Bell , Paula Peacock , Janice Warriner , Sunny Williams , Angela Hardy , Diane Whitehead , Debbie Grayson , Kimberly Conrad , Mary Jo Zorad and Laurie Pace .     Unanswered Prayers, the Elephant in the Room? It happens all the time. Elephants in the room. We step all around them, worry about them and they do not budge. Terry's Aunt Jo used to keep a list of all the things she was praying about. She had a spiral notebook she carried around. Neatly she would write out the date of the first day she was praying about something.  If the prayer was answered... on the far right side there was a date of the answered prayer. This really works in the sense you SEE how many prayers are answered and very few are unanswered prayers.  Everything is in God's time, not ours. Right now there is somet

One of my favorite things I get daily is from Neale Donald Walsch . It is always a daily thought and a few times I will share his exact message reconnecting you to his site.  Over a year ago I jotted down something from one of his daily passages about control issues. We have very little control over life.  We think we have control and most of us like to feel we are in control but are we? Try as we might, our lives are always spinning out of control. What you can control is your "internal world". Neale describes the internal world as the 'reality' within y

Contemporary Abstract Horse Equine Art Painting Silver's Gang by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Silver's Gang 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas   This was what Brad Bisby calls the 'battlefield'. There are times when you paint you have a set direction. If I showed you where this painting was before I scrapped it twice you would laugh and definitely think it was not related. The spirit of this horse painting gives a strong definition to equine art because of the strength and passion in the 10 layers or more of oil paints. If I tried to paint something like this again... I could not ever get there. That is what makes this horse painting so unique.     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011    Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie       It is called Silver's Gang because the horses in the painting are the five horses from the Lone Ranger and Tonto when they were together. Do you keep a prayer list? Is it filled with prayer requests for friends and family? You might have some things on there tha

The Beginning Of An Equine Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

The Beginnings of an Equine Painting This is the first step of a new painting. 30 x 40 is the canvas size I am working with. The first thing I do is come up with the theme or reason for the painting other than playing in paint. I chose to paint about all the horses involved with the Lone Ranger. His first horse was Dusty. Dusty was replaced by Silver, a beautiful white horse he saved from an attacking buffalo.   Pre-Sketch for Pace equine Painting Tonto road a horse named White Fellar in the beginning, so he was actually on a white horse while the Lone Ranger road Dusty a Chestnut mare.  After Tonto gave a Chief friend White Feller, the Chief gave him a Paint Pony.  I could not find a name for this one, but the final Paint Pony Tonto rode was Scout.  The Lone Ranger had let Silver go to run free and Silver returned with Scout.  Now you have the full outlay of the horses  Home Work of the Lone Ranger and from this I  Now you have the full s

Pear Painting Kitchen Art by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Pear Fun Okay, I played around with this one and loved it. I may do more because it was so free to paint it. First I put a layer of color on the canvas, then drew with a brush and India Ink.  After that I worked in the oil paint and touched up a bit of the ink. Mixed Media I guess! Oil and India Ink. 9 x 12 inches  Oil on Panel, ready to frame.  ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie        The Good Things in Life... What are the good things in life? Popcorn at the movies? A good book and a glass of wine? A 25% raise in salary? A clean bill of health? Money back from the IRS? What about the leaks under the slab... or a broken lawn mower? Or what about that bad cold last month? It is so easy to believe the 'good things' in life are from God and to be delighted when they come our way. It is easy to pray and give thanks to Him for those 'good things.'

Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace, Waiting and watching or Living Life Today...

Mountain Pony 10 x 10 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD Rich earth tones, buttery paint and a palette knife created this unique horse painting by Laurie Pace.    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Answered Prayers Would you believe it is 58 degrees outside? Terry and I debated if we could chose just rain or cooler temps what would it be...and we both said rain.  God didn't agree so He sent cooler temperatures. It was the perfect morning for an early walk. When cold fronts come through the sky is very blue . His gentle touch of wispy clouds gave the feeling of lightness  as they floated in the early morning sky.  Within in hours we saw a hurricane to our eastern state and knew a cold front was coming our way. It meant no rain for us, but we will enjoy the cool mornings this week.  We watched as the rain disappeared off the radar...only 70 miles from us...close but not close enough.

Our minds will wander off into thought and we mindlessly carry on doing our chores or work. While I believe this to be an ability we need to use when we meditate, escaping from the chaos of our lives and focusing on God... I am not convinced it is something we should do daily.  You need to be alive and awake in the moment...this moment that God has given you this day. Be Conscious of the present moment.  Stay away from mindful projections of things in the future, or you will lose the precious moment you have right n

When needs arose I stopped. I didn't panic, I didn't fret, I didn't allow any negativity to drive the day into a mess. I just stopped and paused and took a purposeful praye

I had never found or read the entire poem.  It truly is something to take to heart this first Sunday in the new year 2011. The will of God will never take you, Where the grace of God cannot keep you, Where the arms of God cannot support you Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, Where the power of God cannot endow you. The will of God will never take you, Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you, Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you, Where the army of God cannot protect you, Where the hands of God cannot mold you. The will of God will never take you, Where the love of God canno

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards   It was a long day yesterday at the computer but I have finished outlining and preparing the written areas of my first workshop for 2011.  Now to decide where to have it.  There are beautiful places to stay here in Mt Vernon and I can teach it at our Franklin County Arts Alliance building, or I can have it with Dena Wenmohs at her ranch in Cypress Mill, TX , or begrudgingly I could have it in Dallas. Not too much for decompressing in that congested place!   Have also considered a special place here in Mt Vernon called Selah Ranch amd a second loca
