Morning Has Broken | Sailboat Paintings | Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Morning Has Broken ...   by Laurie Pace  Contemporary Sailboat Painting - Sold.  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   I truly remember every stroke of painting this and the daring thought to cut through the painting with the slicer tool.  I use it rarely but in this painting it totally made the painting.  I curved it where the sun was placed in the sky creating even more interest. I love painting sailboats. That was our one love we did together as a couple. When we moved back to civilization to be closer to the children, we had to sell both boats. There was no place to keep them.   What is your favorite thing to do in life?  👀😀💜  Stop by and read more at my website about one of the most dangerous times we spent on the red Cat in Lake Cypress Spring...  “ So may all your enemies perish, LORD! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land ha

Ocean View | Two German Shepherds | German Shepherd Painting

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Ocean View Contemporary Dog Painting of German Shepherds by Laurie Pace 24 x 24 on Oil on Canvas with Palette Knife  -  Commission Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   It was a week of sketching and sketching and getting to know the layout and curves and straight lines of the shepherds before I actually began painting with my knife. The dogs were sketched precisely on the canvas... and the thick paint began to pile high.  These girls are heading to the west coast near San Francisco.  I was thrilled to paint for my collector in the Bay area.  I was even MORE excited she wanted the dogs painted like I paint my wolves.   Once the knife started, there is no telling the direction. One of those LET GO AND LET GOD days.  Up close you see the piles of paint and color peeking through here and there. Far away it give definition and dimension to the painting.   I would love to work with you on a commi

White Horse Morning 2012 | #21 of 100 | One Hundred Horses for One Hundred Days for $100 | Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 White Horse Morning   by Laurie Pace - Sold.  9 x 12 inches of thick oils paint. Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   It was in 2012 I painted 100  horse paintings in 100 days... and I never missed a day.  I even sold a painting each day as I posted them.  I really need to think about doing that again! During this Covid season, with galleries closed or running quietly without many visitors, the small pieces might move better than the large ones.  The brilliant colors and the contrasting angles of the paint surrounding the horse all pull in different directions.  The Orange burst warmed up against the blues and greens!  Make me smile!  Looking for my palette knife as soon as I post this one!  “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you." Zachariah 2:11 “Many natio

Summer Herd | Contemporary Abstract Horse Painting | Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Summer Herd  by Laurie Pace - Commission Painting Contemporary Abstract Horse Painting from Golden Pond Studio  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   Summer is almost at an end.  A hurricane is hitting the Texas Louisiana border in the next 24 hours.  It is too far east for us to gain any moisture in the Dallas Ft Worth area where it is desperately needed.  Our temps through next Monday range in the 100 plus up to 110 degrees.  No moisture and it will damage our trees, grass and our lakes, ... our water resource.  Terry and I have family on the coast that is affected and our prayers and love encompass them as well as all the folks in these areas.  Family resides near New Orleans,  Lake Charles, Beaumont and Houston.  The Painting I shared today was a commission and one I chuckle at when I see it. I LOVED painting this piece with the horses milling around eating grass. The sunlight is bro

San Jacinto River Gathering - Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 San Jacinto River Gathering 5 ft by 8 ft  by Laurie Pace - Sold Commission.  Contemporary Abstract Horse Painting Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   In the early fall of 2012, I was approached by a law firm in Houston, Texas to paint three large pieces, two were five ft by 8 ft in size. I did one in three canvas pieces making one nine feet in width.  The paintings were to be centered around a Texas theme, horses and the land. No people.  I did the series with well known rivers in Texas, this was the first piece completed, San Jacinto Gathering.  You can watch the video of the making and my painting in action  Here .  If you are interested in a commission, I would love to work with you. On my website I explain the process and it includes you being a part of the entire process as it happens. Wishing you were here... Horse Painting by Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Wishing You Were Here  8 x 8 Oil on Panel  Daily Paintings   by Laurie Pace   Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   I painted yesterday!  I did not start the dogs. I did a small 8 x 8 horse painting... the one above, as a Daily Painting.  It is available at $199.  The dog painting will begin today.  Slow progress on stamina.  I stood cleaning up mess before I could even do this painting.  By one in the afternoon I was pretty well ready to eat some lunch and break for the day. It was Saturday after all. I truly won't do much on the dog painting today.  I may finish the etching or begin with a light under coat to knock out the white canvas.  Pretty sure I will use oil.   What do you like to do on Sundays?   We still cannot attend church, or really safely go out to eat. I do not grocery shop on Sundays unless it is an emergency.  To be perfectly honest, I am writing this blog on Saturday

The Wise Ones - Contemporary Horse Painting by Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 The Wise Ones  30 x 40 inches  by Laurie Pace - Sold.  Contemporary Horse Paintings for Sale Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   Finally back again!~  Sorry I have been out due to a slight injury from painting... don't even ask.  Moving slowly but God has this and I trust him with it!  Today I will be starting a commission I had hoped to do last week... it is of two puppies.    The painting above, The Wise Ones, was a commission back in 2012.   It is in quieter earthy colors and I rather like the palette. I may use something similar on the dogs I am starting. The collector lives in CA and has several of my paintings and she reached out hoping for something contemporary with her babies.  I am still debating on the approach but know in my heart, when I start I will let go and let the paint flow.  I watched a shared video on FB this last week. It was entitled: Just Go Quietly On.   I enc

Make sure you stop by my main website and sign up for my newsletter . It goes out like every three or four months... not often.   “ For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:17 Laurie Pace  -  A Texas Artist   INSTAGRAM  : @LauriePaceBlog Follow me on Facebook           S

Summer Night Reflections of Glory Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Reflections of Glory  by Laurie Pace - Sold.  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   It was a rainy summer in 2007.  The humidity was high when we went to bed the night before so when the train ran through town at 3:30 am, it seemed louder than normal as the engineer blew the whistle at crossings. The nearest crossing to us was only two blocks away.  I knew I would not go back to sleep, so I gently pulled back the sheet and quietly tiptoed to the door. The dogs were asleep as I quietly walked by... thankfully the studio was on the other side of the house. I left Terry sleeping soundly. Little did I know that I was about to paint one of my lifelong favorites. Reflections of Glory.    Read more... “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed a
