Morning Wolf...Wet but ready to post online!  Painting on birch with deep sides, I laid out beautiful glazes of oils layering up the texture in the final painting. This was a good 17 day process with the last colors added, the blues.  It always surprises me how beautiful the glazing is on birch.    The Predator in your Life Why is it we do not see the predator in our lives that intends to harm us or our friends and family until it is too late? If you think about it, a predator is usually wise to the 'game' they play. They can spot the weak

Before the sketch I would have normally put on an acrylic wash. For some reason I was eager to jump in and sketch and jumped ahead.  When I began pulling my colors for the woods I started with a grey blue color and then built out with quinacridone gold, Prussian blue, Carmel Browns and a tiny bit of Titanium white. Tomorrow the wolves will be painted.   I had hoped to have it done for this Sunday blog, but it will be a Monday Post.  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Most of this piece is established and sitting for me to study it.  This is the 'soup' in the pot simmering, still lacking some salt, pepper and basil. I am going to take a break for a few days and study it and then by the end of the week post the final painting.  My watering began early this morning just after seven. I was a bit disappointed that the temps were not as cool as they have been.  Terry has nine more days until the cast/bandage is removed and he is released to 'water' again... I cannot wait.  When he has his eye surgery in June, he can actually water after two days of laying flat... he just cannot lift things over 20 pounds.  The problem with the wrist is both the weight and use as well as dirt and water.  We
