Longhorn Sketches for Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

More Longhorn Sketches by Texas Artist Laurie Pace  This is another sketch for the square paintings. It is one of the only ways I could sketch to get longhorns on a square canvas and that was to angle them. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Shared Moments The treasured moments of friends is such a blessing.  I promised updated photos with Jan and Arlo from this weekend and you are are getting just that!  We spent a wonderful time with them catching up on old times and making new memories.  Lady L decided Arlo was her other Grandpa and of course with Jan being my 'sis' Lady L decided she was 'grandma' as well.  It has been two years since I sat face to face with Jan and I wanted to cry when they pulled in the driveway. I finally could look into her eyes and feel the warmth of her hug in person. My Sister of the Heart. Jan and Laurie Spring
TREASURES BY THE SEA Children Portrait Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 SOLD, Commission work. " Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him. " Matthew 26:49 Are you a chameleon? Do you act differently around different people? I know my kids do. When the eldest is with his friends he is WAY different than when he is with us. Same with the youngest son. Only our daughter in the middle stays the course true to who she is all the time. If you change yourself daily to be what others want or what you think they want, then you are a chameleon. We are all suppose to change and grow in life...that is part of our journey. But changing back and forth every day from one personality to another depending on who you are with, is not healthy. Are you happier with one group of friends over another? Have you examined the why? God created you as you are and it is time you begin to like who you are. The positive parts and the negative p
BOYS ON THE BEACH Contemporary Palette Knife ART Dog Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 24 x 48 inches of strength and color, Oil on Canvas FRONT COVER of The Sighthound Magazine Issue 9/10 Winter 2008-2009 :::THE COVER::: "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God ." Psalm 42:1 It was such a surprise to get the mail in today and find a package with two copies of the newest SIGHTHOUND Magazine in my mailbox. One of the paintings I did last year for a collector in Sweden last year is the front cover of the Winter 2008-2009 Magazine. MY BABIES!!!! I love it! GOD IS GOOD! I truly have to give thanks to a collector in Ohio, Anne, who advised me last year to begin painting these wonderful dogs because of their grace and build being so similar to the horses I paint. Thank you Anne for giving me another purpose and direction with my artwork. When I think of the connections of so many generous people that came together for this to happen, I
Run with the Girls Contemporary Art Daily Painting Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace COMMISSION SOLD 36 x 36 x 2 inches CONTACT ME for your own painting. Still time before Christmas! Laurie Don't forget to visit my new blog for my new Christian Books, The Lakewood Series. It is early on Thanksgiving. I just got Terry out the door and the dogs already had breakfast. It is 5:45 a.m. as I type this. Yesterday or rather last night, I finished this commission painting for a young couple with two daughters. The mom liked the idea after I sent her the sketches, that it reminded her of the three females in their family, she as the mom and her two daughters. Hence the title, Run with the Girls. Also yesterday I made an organic pumpkin pie; a homemade, hand-cracked pecan pie (Made with real maple syrup NOT corn syrup); fresh organic cranberries with organic navel oranges, organic Pink Lady Apples; Oey Goey St Louis Butter Cake and organic sweet potatoes the old fashion way with brow
BLUES Blue Tree by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission For inquiries: Laurie Just in from walking two miles in the heat with the dogs this morning. We thought we got out while it was cool, but we both have to shower...it was not. The dogs didn't seem to mind though. Perhaps that is what we need to do in our lives when things are not right, or they are upside down or inside out.... is not to make a decision about anything. Decide to not decide. I know on occasion Terry and I have to agree to disagree and drop it. So when something is staring at you in the face, make the sound decision to not decide right now. It is a winning situation because it gives God time to work. Neal Donald Walsch tells us today, "Stop worrying about what you can "lose" or how you can "win" and just follow your joy. Where does your joy say you should go?" Grace, Laurie " If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and
PEARING UP by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Commissioned Contact me for other work: Laurie It is early Sunday. Mom is sleeping gently in the other room and I will tiptoe to paint this morning, no music, no news, just me and the colors pushing on canvas. Sometimes I enjoy quiet paints! I worry about the phones though. Brothers all started calling at seven thirty yesterday and my phones going off in succession is enough to wake anyone. I am reloading my book cover for the new book for hopefully the last time. I used EXACTLY the same cover we used for printing last time and it rejected it...go figure. Well, the words rejected it but I think they used it anyway. I have redone it again for the 8th time and am reloading it. Do you think God gets tired of reloading us? We all seem to have trouble seeing the real world we live in. Last night we watched "THE BUCKET LIST". Mom chuckled as we did through several scenes, but the ones that pulled your heart
MOTHER AND CHILD THREE Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches Commission Painting SOLD What is harmony? I know as an artist I strive for harmony in every painting I work on. Seeking a balance of color, line, space and shape, bringing into perfect harmonious pitch the blending of each of these elements. There are times I work a painting and it just doesn't work. Usually I attribute this to me being too much in control and not allow the spirit with in to carry the movement. Whether it be a realistic painting of a still life or a free handed abstract, it is essential for me to let go and not control but to paint what is seen or felt with out the distraction of owning the brush. I think this applies to life as well. In our stressful schedules we run around like a chicken with our head cut off, visiting scenarios in our head, trying to figure out where we need to be next and what would be the best option to get everything done that has to be done by a certain time,
SUNLIGHT ON THE LANDING Azawakh Sight Hound Dog Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches CONTACT ME FOR COMMISSION WORK. LAURIE SOLD COMMISSION PAINTING Thursday has arrived and it is muggy outside. Hillary and Morgan are on their way to the airport to fly to Washington DC to do the art program for the Tourette Syndrom teens at the conference. We have pre-shipped all the supplies so the rest is up to them to complete the mission. It was nice to be able to have them take on this responsibility for me. They promise to take many pictures. Did you sleep well last night? I did pretty good until about three when I woke with a nasty sinus headache. Our humidity is harsh right now and storms are expected later this evening. I crawled out of bed and took some Tylenol. I was back to sleep not too long after and barely woke up in time at five to get Terry up and out to work. I always feel like Bed is the Comfy place to withdraw to. The bedroom is the safety zone. It is there
SISTERS IN THE SAND - Commissioned painting of children by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 40 Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for Commission work, Email: Laurie FLASH ADDITION I FORGOT>>>WILL POST AGAIN TOMORROW FOR EARLY MORNING READERS MORGAN GOT THE JOB!!!! Thanks be to God and to all of you prayer warriors!! This was the original painting I did for Lynda in Connecticut. Her little girls were really little in this painting and are at least three or four years older now. Maybe even six years older. I believe when she sent me photos they were older even when I painted this. She also has three little boys. A well rounded crew to be sure. This painting took honors in an international art show when it was done. Well, yesterday was full of surprises. I want to share with you right now. YOUR LIFE IS NOT GOING TO GET BETTER. That is the bad news....here is the good news: YOUR LIFE IS NOT GOING TO GET WORSE. Things happen every single moment in our lives. We cannot live our lives waiti
Florida Brown Longhorn, Commission Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 48 x 72 inches Oil on Canvas CONTEMPORARY ART FOR YOUR HOME Well, it is almost done. Back and forth with Hilary in Florida yesterday from yellows and marigolds to tans and buttercreams...I am hoping it is dry by Christmas...but it knocked the socks off all the art moms browsing through yesterday. One of the students named it Tex! Old Tex is going to live in Florida. Hilary and I are debating on HOW to ship it. I want to let it dry and then take it off the stretchers and mail it. She would like it to stay together and is trying to figure it out how else to get it there. I was giggling when she said she would drive over to pick it up. Well it fits flat on the bottom of my truck bed, but ....not sure about an suv. Maybe a big van! What a commotion yesterday during art class. Careflight landed at the church across the side road from us. The kids were in a tizzy with the noise. Outside we found an ambulance waitin
Chicago Bound Texas Longhorn 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD COMMISSION WORK I just finished this commission piece for a Texan now living in Chicago. Can you guess they went to UT? This was a peaceful painting for me as I am beginning to get back into my grove of painting. My right hand is still sore but much more functional than it was. This is one of my pull paintings as I pull color through the surface of the canvas using impasto mixed with the oil...then the longhorn emerges! The paint is again close to 1/4 inch in some places! Today is my MRI. OPEN MRI, but the man said it would still be noisy...I am not smiling as I woke with a migrane today. We cannot eat either...having blood drawn in an hour so I can't have a cup of hot peppermint tea. More later...meanwhile be a good steward today...care for all God has given you, the people in your life, your home, the animals....God gives so much to us, every single second...remember to give thanks! Grace, Laurie
