SAD... I am sad.   This old floral painting just about reflects the household right now!   Terry has worked diligently putting in a new sturdy back door with inset blinds in between the glass.  We also ordered a new front door, by accident... happened to be in the right place at the right time. Lowes.   They were having 15% off ordered doors... and we narrowed it down and when they were running num

Henri Matisse What kind of energy do you put out in the world around you?  Do you ooze love, kindness, consideration, empathy...or do you ooze anger, stress, disgust and worry?  We are what we give out to others.  Our life and words reflect what is inside each of us.  Is it hard to reflect harmony if you are upset with the world? Yes it is. You cannot be

Caught something cold flu like that sent me to bed. Now the cough weakens me by late afternoon and keeps me awake some of the night. Needless to say one does not get much painting done like this. There are changing coming in our household again.  I am hoping to explain more later this week. Still hard to sit and the computer and type anything right now. I am so appreciative of your constant in my life and your thoughts when you email me or your comments to these writings.  Blessings, Laurie   For the Lord himself will

Meanwhile the roses have done well on the southeast side of the house and I cannot wait to start cutting blooms for my vases. I have small buds beginning already.  With this being Lent, there is a double time spent on time in prayer. For me it is not just the giving up of things special to me, but the giving to others of things special to me.   Lady L was reading in her school story book about a parrot that had two coats to wear to a party. He could not decide between his green coat and his yellow one. He wore t

The mouse is through the door.  Where's the dog?  Who threw up on the carpet? Who left the door open?   PLEASE let the squirrels out! Every day around us things happen.  When life is chaotic things really seem to rub you the wrong way and somehow you think you will feel better if it can be blamed on someone else but not you. Take Responsibility? Who me? Red Roses in a Bowl  reminded me of the special gift vase my mom buys every newlywed couple. It is a vase that she says the husband must fill with flowers to say I am sorry.  That is ho

Spring Roses by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Rose Painting

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Spring Roses 12 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas Panel Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Back in about 2006 or 2007 I painted these roses and really enjoyed the knife work on them. Looking through old files prompted me to do a smaller repaint using the same palette. I have been doing so many horses lately I need to climb out of the stable and reach out again. This is a bright sunny rose painting filled with layering and texture. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:5-8 #horsepainting  #lauriepac
