Yellow ROse

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Yellow Rose Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Yellow Rose -  The Texas state flower is the bluebonnet but the Yellow Rose of Texas is the song!!!  Where did that come from?  It became popular during the U.S. Civil War, especially among cavalry men from the south and from Texas. On YouTube  "There's a yellow rose in Texas, I'm going there to see, No other Feller knows her, Nobody known to me. She cried so when I left her, It's like to broke my heart, And if we ever meet again, We'd never walk apart. |Chorus:She's the sweetest little rosebud, That Texas ever knew, Her eyes are bright as diamonds, They sparkle like the dew; You may talk about your Clementine, And sing of Rosalee, But the Yellow Rose of Texas, Is the only gal for me.:| When the Rio Grande is flowing, The stars are shining bright, She walked along the river, On a quiet summer night: She said if you'll reme...

Golden Clouds Gathering

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Golden Clouds Gathering Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I was flying through the search engines on Duck Duck Go   and I came across many paintings dating back to 2005 era that I do not have because of my PC crashing.  This was one of them.  I will be sharing them both here and on my website blog.  Perhaps digging more each day. I did a series of maybe 5-7 paintings of gatherings of horses with lots of color.  This one gave me goose bumps to see the color combos!  Enjoy the 'eye candy' of older paintings! “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” – Psalm 139:23-24 This is short today. I have a class starting in a few moments and wanted to get this published before it starts. I am still in my exercise clothes, so this is brief today! What is the bigg...

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...

Painting in Progress Four Horses

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Painting in Progress and not named yet. Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Saturday evening and a late blog.  The day has been filled with thunder and rain all day. West of us has had 15-19 inches and I am positive some flooding. We were to get more tonight but it looks like it shifted further south. Was hoping at least!   So this morning with the rain and thunder right out side my north two large windows... I watched the rain fall between my trellis of Passion vines... I continued to paint on this piece above and it is now almost done.   You can see from this photo in progress how I grid out to make sure the horses are in my sketch in the correct position.  I know it looks off as I had to pull it to fit in the frame... but they were all straight.  Photo foran almost finished piece tomorrow or Monda y.  Isaiah 54:17  " No weapon forged against ...

Flower Gathering

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Flower Gathering Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Flowers to you!  I painted this in a workshop at the Dutch Art Gallery with Nancy Medina. She was an artist of Texas back then...now Colorado... and I took my mom to paint at this workshop too.  It truly was fun. I did sell it to a collector knowing it was painted at a workshop. I chose my own flowers and filled my own vase and followed Nancy's directions.  Isaiah 35:4 " Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come.'”  Had lunch today with our Lifestyle Group.  We are ramping up for fall and things to start.  Good food and great friends and as always... God is good and was there with all of us. Enjoy your Wednesday tomorrow. I have spent the rest of this day, morning until 11, and returning home at 2:30, up to now painting in my studio. I am 75% down with the...

Mid Morning Get Away

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Mid Morning Get Away Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Evening colors in my head but the painting is of morning light!    Palette Knife, CHECK Holbein Duo Oils, CHECK.  18 x 27 inch canvas, CHECK.  Mountains of paint piled high? CHECK.  Painting sold?  Check. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-discipline.”  2 Timothy 1:7  I love painting with a palette knife. It is powerful to pile the paint high as you knife it on the canvas. Been working today on the flatter 4 x 5 ft painting. Hopefully tomorrow I can share some photos! Cooler weather in a few days dropping us from the high nineties to the low 80s.  I will take and love it.  Elle   Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales.
