One step forward and two or three steps backwards. This happened to Paul when he was preaching and could not travel or do the things he was called to do. Paul was an apostle spreading the gospel to foreign countries.  There is no direct evidence that Paul officially met Jesus before his death, but Paul did encounter Jesus on the Road to Damascus after his resurrection. I came across it penciled on my canvas and started working on it two months ago. It was a Christmas gift to her parents. John 16:33  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”   I chose this verse to help us remember what Christmas is truly about. It was not just about Jesus' birth, but it is about our salvation through his birth, life and death here on earth as He was Risen from the dead after dying on the cross for our sins.  Jesus has overcome the world.  It is time to reflect and recognize the true blessings of God, which of course include the birth, life and death of His son, allowing our salvation through Him. Appropriate for this time of the year.  No laughing as I disclose my UH-OH.   We made a quick trip to Whole foods yesterday for fresh lettuce and potatoes and bread... and somehow still spent $130.  We shopped Friday for Christmas stuff... and spent $170.  Groceries need to go back down.    In my hurried mind, I thought Christmas was Thursday. I happened to be with my daughter at the bank yesterday and she was filling something out and she looked at her apple watch and wrote December 23rd.  I stopped and thought, no that is not right. Christmas is Thursday.  Hmmm... No THAT is not right. So I found out at 3 pm yesterday on the 23rd of December... that Christmas was Wednesday. I had to go back and adjust yeste...

It explored many things that related to one of our granddaughters and you have to look through it to find everything there is to discover.  Only in the mind of a seven year old that year! This was a gift for a friend in Kentucky, who later ended up with TWO little girls after raising some awesome sons! It is late tonight that I am blogging for the morning. It has been a long day with a quick run to Costco and last minute changes with Christmas Dinner... then home to bake Christmas cookies with our granddaughter!  I do believe we made about six dozen Christmas Sugar Cookies and iced them as well. It is an old 'family recipe'. We also make caramel Rice Krispie treats (no marsh mellows)   Double yummy.  Grandfather and Little Bit worked ...

We thought we were going to have a warm week, but no idea past today any more. This painting was done I think back in 2010 at my studio on the lake. We had a red winter solstice Moon... and it was beautiful... so I painted some horses I had taken photos of at our friends ranch.  2 Corinthians 12:9 " But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me ." Becoming a grandparent is wonderful. We have a 27 year old grandson we helped raise until he was six.
