The Tale (Tails?) of 100 horses for 100 days for $100 each....

The Tale (Tails?) of 100 hundred Horses for 100 days for $100 each. © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 HORSE 58 2012 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Each summer morning in 2011 and 2012, I would rise, make breakfast, clean up and hit the studio painting each day.  100 horses in 100 days for $100.  Really crazy as I could do one 48 x 48 painting and make the same amount!   I was crazy enough to do it for two years. But it was actually fun when I had the space and place to pull it off!   FOR the full story of this painting,  Visit my website blog to see read about these paintings and get all the details here .     Was it really fun? How did I manage things? This process was something that kept me painting and on the raw edge of creativity.  I wish I could do it now!  Hard to do using oils but they work better. Should I do it again?   Emai...

The Battle of the Sun....

The Battle of the Sun in the well loved Painted Ponies by Artist Laurie Pace © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Sunlight Play in the Meadow Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   We turn the pages back focusing on an unusual painted pony from my collection. It was completed in 2022 and sold from Mirada Fine Art in Denver. I am not a 'yellow' person at all. I use it for accent but rarely in this amount on any painting. Yellow, white and a light rich brown blend in the sky to the fields with green and brown and orange grass.  You can visually see the blue bridge start on the left side of the canvas  and pull across in strokes like a bridge or a mountain with pulls of blue through all the legs reaching the greens.   I am preparing in my heart and head for a possible show in North Carolina. I would like to enter my work and it be one of my painted ponies. I will be playing with a color palette be...

Falling into Winter Horse Herd Painting

Counting Backwards? © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Falling into Winter Herd Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Loving the Palette Knife and Addicted to Color The addiction to color is not limited to painting. It spreads to my clothing in my closet and my favorite rich colors through out our home.  This was triggered to look backwards when I saw a man created 5000 days of drawings etc and he ended up selling them for Millions. I look back to 2003 when I started painting daily and listing  paintings on ebay. by 2005 I was making over $100K a year.  I had fun with the paintings...and continued to list there selling paintings though early 2010.  Galleries from Jackson Hole to Denver picked my work up in  2008. I limited what I sold on ebay but continued because the bidding would usually exceed several thousand dollars.  Right place and right time! Going to clean out and sort one of my dressers...

Behind me on the wall....

Behind me on the wall... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 UnNamed Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I could not ignore her, she has been hanging there for 5 months. The hanging wall is not exactly what it sounds like... most are paintings in progress... some left longer than others.  I watch them over the days, the weeks and the months. I stop mid step yesterday afternoon and locked eyes with her eyes. She was pleading for me to bring her to the easel. I ask myself what needs to change, what direction does she want to go? I won't know until she is there... and I brought her over.  At this moment...  She is right where you see her minus the tape and will be bringing in more mutted colors. Spring Winds.. Palette Knife Painting

SPRING WINDS © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Spring Winds Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Spring Winds | New Palette Knife Horse Painting This small 9 x 12 painting feels like motion captured in color. Spring Winds is layered with bold palette knife strokes—orange leading the energy, grounded by green, with touches of blue and purple moving throughout. Three horses emerge from the movement, woven into the paint rather than sitting on top of it. It’s vibrant. A little chaotic. Full of life. And somehow… it brings a sense of calm. Clearing After the Storm

The Clearing After the Storm – A Painting Reflection © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Clearing After the Storm 36 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The Clearing After the Storm is a 36 x 48 oil painting inspired by that powerful moment when darkness lifts and light returns. Three horses move through the landscape—one stepping fully into the light, the others following as the storm passes. The painting carries strong contrast, with deep blues holding the weight of the storm while light breaks across the surface. It reflects a familiar feeling—moving from tension into calm, from uncertainty into clarity. As life shifts between busy seasons and quiet moments, I’m reminded that there is always a return to balance. There is always a clearing. The Trial (Easter 1998)

To the Cross © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 The Trial Oil on Canvas   by Laurie Pace   This painting was created in 1998 by Laurie Pace and is in a private collection. Sharing a quote and a thought Easter Reflections: A Quiet Turning Over the past three weeks, I have found myself drawing closer to our Father in a way that feels both intentional and deeply needed. I’ve begun a new habit—one that has becomes a constant. Throughout the day, I turn my thoughts and prayers toward Him, asking not just for guidance, but for awareness… for the ability to listen. More often than not, the answer is simple: wait on Him. If I give Him the time and the space, His light will come. We live in a world that fills every moment. Running from place to place, constant noise, screens in front of us at all times—phones, television, distractions layered upon distractions. It is so easy to become consumed by it all without even realizing what we are ...
