© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 It's All Mine Oil on Canvas   SOLD   by Laurie Pace   FRIDAY!!!   Are you ready for the weekend?   I have spent the last week working pretty hard but unfortunately on the computer more than at the easel.  This contemporary horse painting was a small one with lots of thick layers of paint.  It is only an 8 x 10 inch painting, but the oil paint is very thick and full of ridges and depth. Hard to tell from the  photo.  I have a huge canvas to attack... for me to play on.  Isaiah 41:10 " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Job 2:11 The Painting: This is all acrylic. I started with a charcoal sketch of the horses and then I began to see shadows and colors. Cross Hatching the palette knife gave it a woven feeling and that is where I saw the flowers...wild flowers. The Thought: Almost late for the day for me...busy catching up on email... Reflecting on the bible verse above... and tying it into the painting is always a start for me. Where do you go or what do you seek when you are sad or in need? Sometimes a good walk will clear your head enough that you can get your brain back in balance. We all need comfort in our lives. It is this part of living that happens to all of us, the feeling let down by someone or something in your life... the feeling that you want to run away or hide...
