Life Moving Forward through the Seasons

Red Moon Rising and the Seasons of Grace © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Red Moon Rising Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Several years ago, while living at the lake, I stood in my studio and watched the Red Moon rise across the water. I thought I was simply gathering inspiration for a painting. Looking back now, I believe God was quietly preparing my heart for seasons I had not yet imagined. Life moves through seasons. Childhood.  Marriage.  Family.   Career.   Loss. Healing.   Death.   Renewal. Some chapters are filled with celebration.  Others seem impossible to understand while we're living them.  Yet Scripture reminds us that God is faithful through every one of them. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." — Proverbs 16:9 This past week something changed in my studio.   For the first time in a long while, I felt th...

Count them down... one, two three, four, five!

There were Five © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Sketch  by Laurie Pace   Where My Thoughts Wander... Every morning begins with Scripture, prayer, and a new day waiting to unfold. Yet, like so many of us, I can find my thoughts drifting toward tomorrow's worries instead of today's blessings. This week, a conversation with friends and a passage from an old devotional reminded me that God's answers often arrive quietly—not when we chase them, but while we faithfully live the day He has already given us. Sometimes the greatest peace comes when we stop searching for all the answers and simply trust the next step. Join me in my Studio Stories as I reflect on faith, creativity, and the quiet ways God guides us through ordinary days. Not Overthinking Life

Not Overthinking Life  © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Cinnamon Rolls Recipe from the 1800's A Thoughtful Perspective by Laurie Pace   I was reminded this week how easily we overthink even the simplest things — and in this case, it came from my kitchen. I was making a small loaf of bread using a quick recipe when I realized halfway through that the yeast I used was six months expired. Instead of panicking, I simply started a second loaf with yeast that was still within date. And that’s when my mind started racing. What did I do differently? Did I forget something? Should I have done it another way? Here’s the funny part — both loaves turned out great. Yet the next day, I made the same recipe again and caught myself doing it all over. Hovering. Questioning. Overthinking every step. Nothing was wrong with the bread. The worry was entirely in my head. Life can be like that too. We replay conversations, decisions, and moments long after t...

Dawn Rising

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Celebrating Life Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Restoration & Hope — Why God is the Safest Place Every relationship journey will eventually reach a moment of reckoning.  In today's world, after vulnerability, disappointment, boundaries, and the tension between self-interest and selflessness, the heart longs for something steady—something safe. That place is God. People, even those close to us, cannot carry the full weight of our hopes, healing, and identity. They are imperfect, limited, and shaped by their own struggles. Expecting them to be our source of restoration often leads to deeper disappointment. Seriously, God never intended human relationships to replace Him. My own experience has taught me this. Healing can only Begin with God God is not surprised by our brokenness. He meets us there. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:...

It is ready to hang and does not need to be framed. “For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” Ralph Waldo Emerson My father-in-law had a saying.. "You can get glad just like you get mad."  We find ourselves quoting him often. Between the headlines or...wait, the SCARELINES and the current pandemic, who really knows how to react or what to believe.  1. Where did it all start to unravel for many of us?  When did so many stop believing in God?  We like to claim credit for everything we do. "I" is a large part of our outlay to others. God works in all of us, and for 'I' to take credit for it all really is not going the right direction. Now sometimes "I" chose...
