This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. It is beautiful.  This is from Sunday Morning around 7:30.  Does not get much prettier waking up to the soft autumn sky.  Can you see...

It must be rubbing off.  He came in late last night before bed and s...

Night Crossing Horse Paintings, Contemporary Palette Knife Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Night Crossing     © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:24 x 24  Oil on Canvas. Sold Prints are available. Contact me. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I fell in love with the movement on this painting as it evolved on the canvas. The palette was quiet compared to my normal rainbow palette, but the energy was high and the movement of paint led the eye throughout this contemporary horse painting.  Completed with caramel browns, ultramarine blues, white, mauves and mixes of all three...the palette offers up earth tones in a quiet deep thrust.  You cannot plan this type painting. It comes from deep within the creative spirit.    In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;     in the morning I lay my requests before you     and wait expectantly. Horse 48 Uneasy Ride Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 48 Uneasy Ride  Size:8 x 8  Oil on Canvas Panel. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Raw paint. Uneasy edges. Patterns of paint colliding together weaving into the surface of this panel. It is there among the texture.  A horse painting emerges... easily but with the flow of paint, I entitled it 'uneasy ride'.  First time painters initially struggle to bring content and paint to the canvas. With each day they gain confidence and strength in working with their oils. The biggest hurdle is not to copy or use an image (photo or painting) of another artist.  When you realize as a painter that the surface of that canvas holds unlimited ideas, you have arrived. This blank canvas holds the surface of a new world, a new creation... a new painting.  If painting becomes a struggle and not an adventure, it is time to change your per...

Blue Mist Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Blue Mist  24 x 30  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is a painting completed last year. It is indeed available on my website with close up shots, and if you love it and want to make an offer, please email me . It is in my top ten favorite list for the past two years.  I have the photos I took as I worked on this baby and was looking at them yesterday and thought... how did I do it?  It is the Holy Spirit working for sure through my hands.  I often feel I am on a journey without knowing the destination. Having to just sit back and not try to control is always the hardest thing for me.  For some reason this past week a bible verse or rather an entire Psalm has filled my every thought.  As I recited it over and over in my head I knew I was missing a line but could not figure it out and turned to my b...

Sunrise Greeting Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Sunrise Greeting 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Even if I tried over and over I could not possibly get a good shot of this painting. The intensity of the sunrise with the pinks and golds and oranges is incredible.  Made me think of Colorado or even Wyoming near Jackson Hole. The skies clear and the sunrise vivid. Some mornings we wake up and life seems ready for us. Our plans are in place for the day and the things outlined that we need to accomplish. We anticipate joyfully all ahead, jump out of bed, dress and start that day...but...have you forgotten something?  Is God on that list?  He should be the waking thought... and the words of eagerness and joy thanking Him before you even push that foot out from under those covers.  Bring God back into your day, your hour, your minutes...give Him an active ro...

Morning Mist, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Morning Mist  18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I painted with a brush on this canvas allowing the paint to take its own path. There is an undercoating of acrylic and then I began to work oils across the surface. Here is a shot of the weak acrylic wash over the surface.  In this shot I had just begun to use the soft yellow oils behind the neck and shoulder area on the horse.  It sat over a weekend before I came back to it.  In art and in life you will learn quickly that if it is good today, it is good tomorrow.  Waiting on things and praying about them is the only way to allow God to work in your life.  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart   #horselovers Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsle...
