On Monday night I attended a Girl Scout meeting. I had not been to one of those since I was Stacey's girl scout leader many years ago. It was my honor to work with these  incredible young scouts with a project and a sharing of my work and history.  With me came paints, canvas, brushes and a story about a box. We talked about doing things backwards. We talked about closing ourselves into a box and how we could not see anything altho we could still hear things. We talked about gifts from God. We talked about donuts and donut holes. (Positive and negative space) Main idea was to paint the canvas with lots of color...and while it was drying I told them about myself and my art.  Then we came back to the semi d...
A NEW DAY 22 X 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. Painting is listed on eBay. FRIDAY is here....storms are on their way...I have several things sketched out on my canvas this morning and eager to paint! My dad is doing fantastic after some adjustments with his heart yesterday. Mom seems relieved so hopefully she will rest easier this weekend! Last night I cleaned out two hall closets and piled books in boxes for Half Price Books. Also finished adding music to my Itunes from all my CD's that I paint by and now will have MANY tunes to listen to instantly with out shuffling plastic boxes around. Last night I fixed a late dinner for us...part of the RICE DIET we are on....no rice though. I made a recipe for black bean and corn salad witha sweet sour spicey sauce on it. I served it on lettuce with fresh tomatoes from our garden! YUMMMMM. I caught Terry eating ice cream an hour later and informed him that ice cream WAS NOT on the Rice Diet. But I have lost ...
OUTWARD BOUND 24 X 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you out there! I woke early this morning at four and have been continuous praying for the Tögel family. Conni's mom and dad had just landed in Germany for a visit and her dad was rushed to the hospital. I am not totally clear on exactly what, but think it was a blood vessel issue in the head. PLEASE keep them in prayer so far from home...altho Germany was their home until a year ago. I have been in Dallas the past few days, so not here painting or listing or doing my blog...but spending time with my mom and dad. Wish there was a manual for getting old and guidance for all the decisions we face. Our society has changed so much with families moving so far from each other and everyone working to keep up with our hunger to buy more and have better. I would love to have my parents living with us. My household is not quite as tight and neat as my mom's but I run it very close to how she runs...
Brilliant Red Gerbera 24 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day $499 Good morning. I did not make Dallas this morning...headache is a lingering thing right now. I am struggling with some hands I am painting for a commission piece. I have prayed about it and it hit me to try it over on a linen or smoother canvas. I really dislike starting over since I have 12 hours in this painting, but it is not working.... so today we will regroup. Meanwhile yesterday I finished this painting....VERY thick paint and a criss cross pattern. Bright and cheery and ready to finish drying to travel to it's new home, where ever that might be! We have MAC class again this afternoon. MAC Quicken...ugh ugh UGH UGH. Can't say it loud enough and to top it off, QUICKEN lies...I was told it was identical to the PC version and it IS NOT. It is watered down milk toast in comparison. SOOOO we enrolled into QUICKEN MAC classes to make sure I am not missing something. Tomorrow I may appologize! BUT...
