Transitions in my Day

Transitions each Day © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Painting in Process   by Laurie Pace   Another Perspective I am learning to follow where the work leads—sometimes into heavy texture and movement, and other times into softer transitions and layered color. It is within this balance that my expression is widening, becoming something more than it was before. Several years ago, I created a painting called Celebrating Night to Day, inspired by the transition of sunrise. Painted on birch using a softer acrylic approach, it marked a shift from my usual palette knife work into a more fluid, layered process. The painting below was my first one to work on.. using wood and paint. This painting came together over several days and was purchased before it was even completed—reminding me how powerful the process of transition can be. Not just in painting, but in life. Now, I find myself returning to that idea again—exploring a tra...
Rising to the Challenge © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Rising  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Layers and Layers This painting came from layered paint gathered on my palette — nothing wasted, everything blended into something new. Built with thick palette knife strokes, the ridges and texture create a dimensional surface where the horse begins to emerge through movement rather than outline. Gold was added to bring light and break the pattern, while greens, earth tones, and touches of turquoise and blue create shifting color throughout the form. There is a rhythm to the piece — almost musical — with repeated pulls and curves that guide the eye across the canvas. It reminds me that life moves the same way. Twists, turns, and unexpected changes all become part of what rises next. This piece found its voice quickly — and just as quickly, found its home. Horse 6 (2015) Lightning

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Horse 6- Lightning 2015 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Another small Horse painting,   thickly applied paint by palette knife makes this horse painting rock. As my knife goes into action with all the colors, it totally makes my heart sing. I should be doing that right now!!! Need to clean house... I only managed yesterday afternoon to cook for us and the dog!  Not sure about today. Spending time with Hubby outside this morning early, pinching off zinnia seeds and he was working on planting more of these seeds for additional flowers blooming.  Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." My treasure is the love of God first and realizing all He provides us in this lifetime journey on this earth.  You truly must go through trials to appreciate His deep love and comfort, His patience and His glory, and the gifts given to you...

Thank you to the collector for adding this wild palette knife horse to her collection.  Where have I been? Well... how about a long story short?     I have been battling vertigo for two months. Seriously. But that has not stopped my Reels on FB and Instagram.  Last Friday, I broke my baby toe trying to dance down our front hall way in a hurry around the vacuum cleaner. I...

This is how it begins.   3 ft by 4 ft is the size of the canvas. I literally do not know what I will see in this as I progress. IT IS ABOUT BEING BRAVE There is no rhyme or reason to placement of colors and I usually select random colors. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not...but you learn to flow with the mistakes along the way. I have not shared this in quite a while.. so we will do it this week.   Have you ever found yourself doubting something going on around you?   I sort of felt that way when I started this painting  this way... doubting myself. You may doubt yourself or someone else. It is very easy to fall into the trap of doubting or discontentment with worr...
