A Painting a Day ~ Niki ~ Acrylic POP Art Painting by Laurie Pace 30 x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie © Laurie Pace 2009 " From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. " John 1:16 A Painting A Day: Pop Art a favorite for many of the younger generation and me too! I love the simplicity of blocked color and form and the intensity of the subject matter defined so clearly. Pop Art is a movement that began in the mid fifties in the UK and by the late fifties, it was here in the states. Pop Art takes an object and isolates it from a complex composition into a simple composition. It shares many of the same qualities as Minimalism; both are stand alone attitudes in their creation. This was painted for a dear friend in the D.C. area and it hangs lovingly in her home... she has the attitude that you see in the painting. Of course that is totally up to your personal interpretation. *** Exciting news a...
Under the Stars Contemporary Equine Horse Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 VERY thick Acrylic Paint SOLD! Thank you. Email Me: Laurie " Our inner nature is being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16 I agree our nature is renewed day by day, but I also need my sleep by night. That certainly recharges my batteries. These horses are playing under the starlight while I sleep. Every new day brings to you a new chance. Today you can begin again. Yesterday is over. Forgive and forget what needs to be left behind and begin anew this morning. Every day I have intentions to do things and they slowly fall to the side as priorities step in front of them. Sometimes I feel at the end of the day I am further behind than when I got up. Today I will aspire to be an expression of my Father. Generosity shall be upfront today, mingled with love and kindness. He will support me as I go through this day. Sometimes my memory fails being in my mid fifties... yes it will h...
Mt Vernon Moos Contemporary Art Farm Cow Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD TGIF.... well for Terry it is not, but for the rest of the world it is. His TGIF is Sunday. It is strange living with this weird schedule and I am still not adjusted to it, but very thankful he has his job with American. He is at 21 years now. Thank goodness it's Friday. I remember this mantra from the seventies. Somewhere in there they came out with "Hump Day" being Wednesday. Gotta make it through Hump Day before you can get to TGIF. Our instinct is to focus on what is ahead. The instincts we had as children are based on emotions leading us like a compass due north. What did we need? We needed to be fed when we were hungry. We wanted to be held and feel safe and happy. As we grew out of the toddler years we wanted to feel needed and have jobs that came with independence. From that we found purpose and that we could please people and they were smiling at us. This basic navigation tr...

Contact me to Purchase or Commission one similar: Laurie CLICK HERE and catch my sale on my website ~ fabulous suggestions for gifts for the holidays! When I paint these compositions with Children and their music, it always takes me back to my early years at the piano and how much enjoyment I got from learning to play. I still play today and can sit there for hours and lose myself in the music. Do you ever think, Can I ever get there? Do you ever think, Oh if I change this or this, things might work out better? I believe firmly for myself is one of my biggest mistakes (sins) is trying to control and make things better for everyone around me. I want things to work out right and every one to be happy. I want CHANGE to the positive. I want physical change here on earth. What is missing is the fact that G...
