PRECIOUS MOMENTS ~ Child and Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 11 x 14 inches Oil on Linen Panel Contact me to purchase. Click here . SOLD today on Daily Painters! Thank you. This was the second trial painting on the new linen board. I plan to do another painting of this picture. It came from a collector and I promised to paint it. This will serve as a prepaint. I just sat and painted. No drawing first. I call that being open to create and not bounded by line. Space is all mine. You can do that with God. Be open to divine guidance...be freely floating in His light and love. I am off to paint this morning with a full morning ahead...and a full afternoon. Shalom, Laurie “Then I said, ‘Here I am; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.’”—Psalm 40:7-8
Call of Morning ~ Equine Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 x 2 inches Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for your Home I am sitting here Monday morning, early... it is five a.m. I jumped out of bed to get the dogs out and feed before the storm hits in the next thirty minutes...thought to get my blog out too. I will then shut it all down and either crawl back into bed or start painting. I added a place in the top right corner of my blog that you can sign up with your email and be contacted with my postings. Terry finished all the boxing last night YEAH! Nothing like getting the work out of the way quickly! Morgan and Hillary were over yesterday to paint. He posted a new nude and some gerbera daisies and later this week a fantastic nude will go up for sale on ebay. He is unemployed right now and painting. Have you ever come across DETOUR signs when you were out on errands? It is not too bad if you are in familiar territory and you grumbled a bit about going ou
ALIKE MINDS ~ Contemporary Horses by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Good Thursday Morning to you. I commented to Terry I was beginning to feel my age as I got up this morning. We cleaned out half the garage last night because of trash pick up today and I certainly could feel it when we got up at five thirty. We have a Fire Inspection next week for our CPS certification. NO rubbish allowed. Not sure what they will say with all my cardboard for shipping my work. This painting is in Wyoming at the Shooting Stars Gallery, but I also have it listed on a new internet site for my work. Patrick at www.eleganthorsepictures.com is now exclusively carrying my giclees and prints and low low price posters. (Which I do sign!) They are all printed here, signed and mailed from my studio. My page on this site is www.eleganthorsepictures.com/laurie-pace.html . PLEASE check it out. You might find some good prices for Christmas gifts, birthdays or just for yourself
THE COWBOY ~ Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home Tuesday and still in the midst of our late Indian Summer. Got a HUGE electric bill yesterday, but I have not had a bad one all summer, so I guess one is not bad. Terry thinks the AC is going out, so I am happy we have a unit lined up to go in. This painting was finished on Sunday. Out of the midst of painting it I saw a cowboy standing inside the horse...do you see it? At first I laughed and then I thought, Why not leave it...tell me what you think... Today Terry will work even though it is his day off. He is working a late shift to switch off schedule with another man to have Saturday off for his huge family reunion. It will be the first time in 17 years I will not be there! I will be at ARTSCAPE in Dallas at the Arboretum and again if you are a Dallas/FT Worth reader, BE THERE!!! I will be working tonight in the studio late preparing all the "Stuff&qu
FURY 8 x 10 x 2 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting a Day Egads...I am sunburned. I took the morning off and went swimming, rather floating, with my neighbor. I haven't take a break from the studio for something enjoyable like that in a LONG TIME. Well I am paying for it. I have the skin type that is winter white, but once I am in the sun I am a brown berry. Well, it has been years since I have been out floating around and I forgot to think about sunscreen because I figured I would only be there a short time. Well three hours later I raced home to handle stuff with the wreck and lawyers etc and didn't take the time to shower until after dinner. I am burned. White strap marks and all! It may be a rough weekend. This painting is another one of my smaller pieces, studies for larger paintings. I am taking watercolors on the trip. I have to really rethink my stuff because we may be flying. Still trying to figure that one out. Less stuff can come with me! I am he
Light of the Paint 8 x 10 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD This is a trial painting of one I will do larger. I want to establish the colors I use as well as the setting of the horse on the surface. From these studies I can see what I have to work with. I am debating a larger scene with another horse to the left. Will be sketching out the ideas later today after working with MR PRINTER. Mega thanks to Peter Togel for helping me with this monster. It is printing but I think we are running on a cable that is too long. Too complicated to explain, but I have to pack up my dining room to move my computer in to where the printer is, it is HUGE and cannot make it around the corners to get to the room I paint and work in. Yesterday I painted all day...the sun was out and Brendan came to mow. It will be sunny again today and hot, which is what is normal for July. This next week is Mom's birthday and Terry's birthday. After that is Conni Tögel's and Lanie's birth
EMERGING 30 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD SOLD Good morning! This one was finished up this weekend. You can click here to bid or buy this painting. RICH colors sweep across the surface in a reverent majesty...I was praying and meditating while pulling the colors, part in delight, part in frustration, part in awe...and all the time in anticipation of what would evolve. We stayed quiet yesterday but did drive into Dallas to have lunch with my parents. Dad and Terry had blackened Salmon with veggies and a large cup of gumbo. Mom and I stayed with talapia and veggies. It was some of the BEST fish I have had yet this year! Yes, we were at Mainstream, our favorite restaurant. A trip to Whole Foods can bring tears and laughter always. There was a woman there (close to my middle age) pushing one of those carts with a child in it...long story short, I kept hearing this strange noise...the woman was in the store and she had ACTIVE LOUD WHOOPING COUGH. After
SUMMER RED 22 x 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Today I puttered around the studio painting. Tomorrow we are going to Terry's Aunt's memorial service. I am growing weary of the car...but at least we are back in our Passat. No it is not as perfect as it was. We learned that insurance companies use reprocessed parts from Junk yards. EEEk, my baby was pristine...now she is part junkyard. Doesn't make me smile...but she feels good inside and drives okay. We have a few issues with the lights etc and the trunk, so there is more to be done, but I am not sure how or who is responsible. It rained massively here again today. It is even flooding in our little town. I am posting late today...off to shower and then a good book! Grace, Laurie “‘Quickly, bring out a robe—the best one—and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. … for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!’ And they began to celebrate.”—Luke 15:22, 24
FULL PAINT 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Not sure where I woke up this morning, but it decisively does NOT feel like Texas. It is in the low fifties outside....I am going to blog and then go sit by the open window and watch the sun rise and play my harp. I anticipate sipping hot peppermint tea with a touch of honey and watching the glory of the Lord wake the earth. THEN I will be back to paint! So this is short and sweet today! FOR YOU, I suggest the same. Find something to focus on that is part of God's creation...his gift for you. Don't ignore gifts given so freely. Stop wasting time on the stress and the worry, put it down for a few moments and give HIM your attention! Grace, Laurie “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God?”—1 Corinthians 6:19
