Bubbles to Horses

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Bubbles to Horses  Sold by The La Jolla Gallery Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Horses Dancing over the Bubbles!   The La Jolla Gallery closed a few years ago and I miss it.  I sold 15-25K in paintings almost every month at Elizabeth's gallery. Sometimes that was just two paintings!  It is rare to find a Gallery that is in a good place and your work is appreciated and purchased. Right now I am only at Mirada Fine Art in Denver and I can still show art at The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, I just have not painted much in the last two years. Hoping to find my way back... as I begin painting again.   Hebrews 4:9-10 "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.”  I have not painted much in three years... it was my long extended 'Sabbath' for rest needed...

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 The Invitation New Home, Thank you Mirada Fine Art Denver Colorado  View more of my work at MIrada here. Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The Invitation painting sold from Mirada Fine Art this week. Steve and Jenny Sonnen have one of the finest galleries in the United States and have represented my work for fifteen years.  It is always inspiring to prepare to paint again, and I just am finishing up the painting I am doing for a sweet little girl and her family. I will not be sharing it for privacy reasons.  After that I will begin work on I hope 2-3 commissions for a family in Colorado.  These I will share with you as I paint.   Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." I noticed the past month that being KIND and COMPASSIONATE toward my Hubby is beginning to make ch...

Watering Hole Crested Butte

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Watering Hole Crested Butte Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Mirada Fine Art and Laurie Pace   Watering Hole Crested Butte is a contemporary representational abstract horse painting . This definitely entices me to paint blindly like this and see what can be created again. I do have one in process right now but realized I need to let go further!  Matthew 8:8, 13 The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour. Was a restful night and for this morning's blog I was going to use something from scripture from early morning 5 am,  because this morning I was in my morning Devotion from Daily Bible and here is an excerpt from it, but I encourage you to read the short devotion from...

Loosing Direction and Forever Young

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Loosing Direction Oil on Canvas 30 x 40 Sold from Mirada Fine Art with artist Laurie Pace   Good morning.    Finally here in Texas we GOT RAIN. Can you believe light stuff last weekend, but Mon, Tues and Wed... it rained. Our trees are going to be beautiful this fall. Usually the summer heat has them turning brown in Sept and Oct and falling without color. Cannot wait to see the beauty in another month or six weeks. Our Red Oaks always go a beautiful red!!! I have been working in the studio on a Commission painting of a longhorn. Actually have energy to paint today and felt pulled to working the surface and considering what I was doing at the same time!  Multitasking the colors and the paint on the surface. This Painting  Loosing Direction was painted a few years back but I am wanting to revisit some horses in the same approach.   Time to buy paint and canvas for...

Rocky Mountain Herd Buffalo Run

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Rocky Mountain Herd Sold  30 x 40  Oils on Canvas    by Laurie Pace   Do I remember this painting?   YES!! I had FUN painting it. Buffalo Run and total fun.  Compared to my other buffalo pieces, this has motion. It Rocks!!!   My favorite Buffalo painting!  As I step back into painting I see authentic motion and not a ' pretty painting' necessarily.  This piece went to Mirada Fine Art in Colorado, but Steve Sonnen, the owner, did not think it would sell.  It did. It did right away at the show I painted it for! It actually makes me want to start one right now.... I do not think I have enough paint, but it might be worth finding out! Layers of color and overlays create this entire painting, keeping a tiny part of the realism and loosing to abstract shapes throughout. This type of work brings joy to me as the painter and to you and ...

Rocky Mountain Sunrise Horses

©  Laurie  Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Rocky Mountain Sunrise -> Buy a 24 x 36 inch Giclee Print. Available through March 23, 2024 11 pm Central Time This painting brings back huge memories. It is a big one, thinking maybe 3 ft x 4 ft?  It was horizontal as I began building layers of browns thinking of doing a bear. I have really only painted one bear, but I had a photo to work from and thought... why not?  Well, two thirds of the way through I was not sold on continuing the bears.  I began pulling my palette knife up and down on the area with paint, and then I flipped the canvas to vertical.  I countered in the yellows and then re-pulled grays to cover edges.  I took my knife and began carving in the thick paint. I reverted to my passion of horses and made them larger and more detailed. I imagined them in my head standing on a cliff area slightly higher up in the mountains asa the sun fell to t...
