In this non-relenting heat watermelon has become our friend. We buy the seedless one and usually pick up a smaller mellon so it does not go to waste. Nothing tastes better than a shake of salt on a slice of cold watermelon. YUM!  This new variety of seedless makes me wonder how they keep growing them if there are no seeds from the fruit to spread and create new plants.   Morgan called earlier and was sharing his day and mentioned he and Kelly might do some community service together on the weekends.  We were talking about planting seeds of kindness in our days.  Simple seeds go back to my typical adage of share a smile it goes a mile... or as I suggested to Morgan open a door for someo...

Face Forward Omega Series Abstract Art Painting by Contemporary Artist Laurie Justus Pace

'Face Forward Omega Series' 24 x 18  Acrylic on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     Painted Ponies      On Golden Pond Blog The cool has arrived but for a short time.  High fifties as I write this blog this morning. Morgan is headed out from Lewisville to help Terry with yard work and our beach area to the pond.  We cannot burn anything due to the burn ban but Terry has his new chain saw to put into action. Yesterday I mentioned a quote from Ben, the one about "You can get glad just as fast as you get sad/mad."  The more I thought about it, I wondered what exactly does it take to get your spirit to soar and rebound from the sad or mad.  Each of us has a spiritual strength woven through out our being. It must be this force that is able to uplift us in the darkest times. It is this same spirit that suppor...

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Painted Ponies      On Golden Pond Blog Traveling always takes a full day out of the work week , but I enjoyed the trip into Dallas yesterday. Not only did we see Ben, but we saw RAIN.  Real rain.  Also saw Interstate 30 spotted with wrecks, mostly 18 wheelers going to fast on the rain slick highway.   We travel in the Passat and made the trip in and out safely with a quick stop at Whole Foods for fruit.   I have been busy with the ArtistofTexas.org in the planning of our second annual art show at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  The postcards have been ordered, book marks are ordered, Judy Mackey is doing the coordination between the gallery and the artists, I am building an ad for American Art Collector and...
