Magnolia Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Magnolias from years Past 30 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas. Sold I am not even sure when I painted these, but they were a commissioned piece. Mariam where these yours?  I am painting again so new pieces will be ready for the blog. I had to go back in time while we traveled over Christmas and to St Louis to celebrate the life of my Uncle.  It is good to be home and at my easel again.  Terry has moved it into the den where I can work in a bit more warmth and feel like I am not as isolated as it often felt on the back porch. The water is beautiful outside the windows but it never felt 'right'. So I am anxious to see what comes from the new location of my easel. Stay tuned. Words of my heart...Our fountain was overcome by the rising water in the pond and is barely gurgling...but it struggled on through the past few weeks as the pond has leveled out again.   Read more here. Early Blooms Magnolia Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie Oh my gosh. It is Wednesday early, not quite six and I am up to paint immediately! I do have to pull some clothes together for donations being picked up today and put some old furniture out for additional donations. But I will wait till daylight. It is far from now with the DLS time. My mother is mending with the love of the Lord and her family at home. Thank you again for your prayers with her hospitalization. I am working on a commission pieces today for a horse ranch in Lufkin, Texas. It is a 3 ft by 4 ft painting of three of their favorite babies. AND then will sketch out a horse for a commission piece that will go live in Washington DC. After that work for the new gallery in Massachusetts, small pieces at least and hopefully to return to a portrait of a young girl that has been pending since the fall. Every day I come in this studio hoping to catch up, but hav
BABY MAGNOLIAS ~ Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 6 x 6 inches oil on Panel FRAMED! $79.00 Contemporary Art for your Holiday This is one of my small paintings that I had framed at the Fabulous DUTCH ART GALLERY in Dallas. Priced to provide you a GREAT GIFT for someone in the upcoming holidays. This frame is a custom frame and the painting an original oil. Yesterday we had our Fire Inspection and did fine. YEAH. We left the house at eleven and stopped in at the Lone Star for the yummiest hamburgers west of Dallas and then headed in to start working at my Father in laws house. Just as we were arriving in Dallas our Realtor phoned wanting to find me. Someone was going to look at the house and she had no idea where we were or what was going on. I was able to reach Brendan to care for the dogs and we carried on with our job. Terry's cousin, Sandra, came to help. She and I had the kitchen cleared out in quick order and the bathrooms. We attacked the living room and den and they ar
The Magnolias at Mema's by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home I am on the first leg of my journey pushing into the wilds of Dallas to set up at the Arboretum for the ARTSCAPE event this weekend. In the past 30 minutes I have managed to pull my back out loading my stuff in the truck, then I used my key to get into my daughter's house 10 min early and set their house alarm off. Of course I woke everyone up and here and half the neighborhood. I told her I was coming. After getting settled inside with portions of my "Stuff" and trying to use my MAC, their Link System is of course protected. I decided it was unwise to wake them again, after all it is just five fifteen in the morning. I spotted Larry's laptop in the living room and I am pounding away on a pc. I stuck my Lexar mini drive in to post a new painting (Yes I have one, and I have been working!) and realized I picked up the wrong mini drive, so the
Mother's Magnolias Oil on Canvas 24 X 36 inches A Painting a Day CLICK HERE TO BID. SOLD WE ARE HOME! I am reposting this painting because it is on eBay and has no bids. It is truly a beautiful painting and I am hoping to find a new home for it! If not, it will hang here until the right one comes available. We returned early from Breckenridge. I spent part of yesterday morning in the ER with Altitude Sickness...I had gotten worse and suddenly I was totally disoriented. Thank goodness for Terry and our friends, Arlo and Jan from Arizona. They bundled me right to the ER and after checking me out I was on oxygen for about three hours as we- oops as THEY packed to descend the mountainous terrain. WOW. We missed out on our last afternoon and night together. We had not seen these wonderful friends in almost ten years. Jan has always been like my older sister and Arlo, gee, he is an original~! He and Terry could talk airplanes all day. (Arlo was in the airforce...) Jan and I, well w
Mother's Summer Magnolias 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day It is just after four early Sunday morning. Terry is asleep, where I wish I was. Woke several hours ago with a screaming sinus headache, tried to go back to sleep but could not. Had to get in an upright position and take some tylenol. I was greeted in the studio by this painting that I finished yesterday before our trip into Dallas to meet Niki for dinner with the family. She is in visiting from Virginia, actually at a Dog Show in Longview via Dallas. I know it was a journey to drive in for dinner but a good time was had by all at ST Cafe. This painting is based on the humongous magnolia tree in my mom's front yard. They live on almost an acre in Dallas and this tree takes up one side of their front yard almost all by itself. It is huge. When you are under the canopy it is like midnight outside and that prompted the dark recesses on this painting of deep purples and violets mixed with the black. The star
SINGLE MAGNOLIA 16 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Monday morning! GOOD MORNING! I think we spent the weekend eating and eating and eating. But in between eating, I did finish this sweet magnolia painting. Soft hues and colors of a bloom on my mom's HUGE tree in her front yard. I am this week preparing the remainder of the work for Wyoming. The days are escaping from me fast!!! Larry and Stacey took us to Magiano's for late lunch on Saturday. We met Mom and Dad there and continued the celebration of Terry and Mom's birthday. Oh my, the food. Larry ordered family style and there was enough food to feed a small army. Pastas, roast, salads, veggies, fish, desserts....Terry and I ate left overs yesterday after church. That is why I didn't blog...too full to move! Actually I was busy painting for Wyoming. Sunday School was inspiring yesterday. We traveled across town to Eastridge Christian Church and a great class led by Jack Van Vessem. The Study has been
