Buffalo Pull ~ Wildlife Art by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD It is early. Terry was not sleeping well and woke me at three....so now it is almost four thirty and he is snoring away and I am wide awake. Figure it was a good time to blog. He worked physically too hard yesterday moving heavy refrigeration equipment at his dad's house. I am concerned he has hurt himself. The house is under contract and we have but 11 days to finish cleaning out the remainder of the garage. Our second concern is his dad working over there too much as well. I believe Terry is way over tired. This is a buffalo pull with oils. Painted from pictures I took this summer. Painted with the same patterns of pulling the paint and finding what flows from the set up. Somehow that seems to be life as well...so much happening and pulling around us and since we have such little control, we have to make life out of what is around us. There are sea...
Arabain 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day It is Tuesday. Today we will be sending off 10 paintings and gathering groceries for the week. I can barely move after planting our front flower beds with my husband. My hat is off to him as the stronger person in our marriage. MY LEGS hurt! BUT the beds look great! The above painting I worked on yesterday and finished late last night after our neighborhood meeting. Leaning more toward realism, it was a romantic feel at the canvas as I worked. Today is the first day of the rest of your life! Remember to honor the Lord first and then get on your way to a positive day. I can't stress enough sharing a warm smile with everyone, especially here where it is cloudy and dreary again. Not sure how any of my paintings are drying! We are will be working in the yard today...shipping will be tomorrow in the rain. I am going to do all my varnishing today though and then pack paintings tonight for going out tomorrow! This is one of my horizon horse pulls....but this is evolving. I will be itching to paint on Wednesday. I have been dreaming another approach to the work....wait and watch! Yesterday the buffet brunch at Blue Mesa was scrumptious. My Mom, Dad, both brothers and their wives, my niece, my daughter and her husband and my youngest son were all there with me. We were celebrating my younger brothers birthday! I had eaten there during regular dining hours, but not for the brunch on Sunday. I will have to do it again with Terry! THE RACE is over. I am soooo thankful. A trip of 10 min and 8miles took 45 minutes. Very painful. Later in the day that same trip would be almost ...
Magnolia Peace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day $499 I made add some more tones to this one....it didn't photograph well, it is a bit more warm in overall feel with all the lovely caramel brown tones. I finished this one up yesterday. BIGGEST NEWS...it is raining raining raining. We are desperate for rain so this is a welcome thing. Last night I was snuggled in bed and Terry called out for me to come sniff....he smelled smoke. As I hit the den and took a whiff, I whirled around and grabbed jeans and shoes and began exploring with him. Nothing had problems in the attic, or out front, but in back it was smokey and smelly...and it was pouring down rain. We continued to search for 10 min and finally I called a neighbor on the reverse side of the circle where we live and asked them to go outside...it was strange because I could not smell the smoke in the front, only the back...we are on acreage. In just moments they confirmed the same smoke and smell....we still do n...
