EARLY MORNING HOUR Nude by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD I am up and have been up since three thirty. Heater was running with an unusual rattle. Morgan and Terry were up in the attic yesterday pulling up old barrier covering. This morning we will have the radiant barrier sprayed in and 18 inches of insulation laid down. We only have two inches right now. Something must have gotten knocked around in the removal leaving a rattle. I am actually sleepy enough to go back to bed now but the day dawns at five and I am going to spend the next hour cleaning the studio while Terry sleeps. QUIETLY! It was a busy family weekend as will be the next six to eight weeks. Just keep our family in prayer right now. As a child did you grow up with the Golden Rule. I hear harps playing when I type and think that! "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." When I interviewed with a panel of eight principals and an HR person for a school district, one of the
POT OF PANSIES Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches SOLD Geez I need to be painting. I have not held a paint brush in my hand in three days. I have nine canvas in various stages of completion beckoning me to work. Yesterday I finished cleaning up the studio. My drafting board is clear and ready for me to work at, my easels are ready, the floors are clean, and the junk has been eliminated. YEAH! Terry cleaned off the jackhammered patio and it is so nice now not to see destruction everywhere. Took about three hours of shoveling and distributing dirt and rock through out our little city lot! He has to work on the patio leveling now. Once he gets started he is a non stop worker until he completes the task. Seems as we get older both of us procrastinate a bit more than we use to. I picked up some huge purple plastic containers for his models. We are going to start clearing out the second bedroom now and getting the boxes out of there. What are your attributes?
WHITE FLOWERS BLUE VASE Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 14 x 18 inches SOLD RAIN is falling and the lightening is bright this morning. Poor Annie Dog, we gave her meds last night for the storm as it was predicted to hit around three this morning. As we got up at five, it was still not here and she is not drugged very well as it is hitting. Weather forecast was a bit off. Meanwhile despite the rain, all is functioning here but my brain. I need to make more lists! I have quite a few commissions I will be working on today and tomorrow getting them started. I finished up the 24 x 48 of Azawakhs running on the beach. You will see it probably tomorrow in my blog. It is a very powerful painting. I heard from Morgan and Hillary in Washington DC. They were with my friend Niki of Sunrise Tourette and they were doing karaoke. Wish I could have been there to hear my son sing. Today they will begin teaching the art classes we put together last weekend so my prayers are with them as the pr
TINY IRIS Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS> THAN YOU!!! I am up. I am up. I am up. Terry is not. Terry is not. Terry is not. BUT he will be. We did all of our shipping to the Blanco gallery yesterday and I sent about 6 paintings out to a new collector in Nevada. SO we had a lot of work going out. Sometimes in life we are faced with some major life changing decisions. Sometimes we don't want to face them and we put them off. EVERY day we face challenges and minor decisions and some of those we do not want to deal with either. Many of us turn to our "mother" or our "best friend" to have a discussion about things. (Goes back to my brother's story about the pubs in the UK and how beneficial they are.) But there is always something that comes up that is even too difficult to put in words. We don't want others that love us to know what anguish is in our hearts and what pulls at our minds in the m
MEDITERRANEAN MORNING ~ Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 6 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home Contact me for commissions or pricing. Click here. SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! Thank you. This is a tall thin painting waiting for the perfect spot in your home! Thick ridge paint offers the touch of impressionism on steroids. We are hoping today to know what house will be ours. We are working two contracts with much prayer. One is a large five bedroom with a pretty nice painting area and lovely flowerbeds and gardens. The second came up late yesterday and we scrambled through traffic to cross Dallas to see it. It is a contemporary modern home of the late fifties, early sixties. Round rock walls and unique classic lines. Not much yard but enough for the dogs. It is in a sought after area and we knew if we didn't get over there and offer a contract there would be no chance of it. We left here and thirty minutes into our one hour journey the Realtor ph

They bring a calm balance to your mind when you stare at them.... you might use it for meditating! Somehow the temps have crept back up outside, but the day seems to hold a note of change. I can't seem to identify it, just a feeling deep with in of excitement. Too bad we can't greet everyday with such wonder and positive thoughts. Maybe it was the hot shower that woke my cells with in this morning. Maybe it was the steam that cleared my head from sleep....what ever it was I feel uplifted and rested and anticipating good from the day. Believe me, not every day starts this way, but it should. Meditating this morning brought a calmness and a chee
