My paintings are through God's spirit in me. Every signature is with an Ithicus below my initials or name. I know each calls to the heart where it belongs! "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12 In our faith as Christians, our true hope every breathing moment, lies in Christ. This morning as I prayed over our breakfast and our day, I thanked God for His mercy, His love, His forgiveness and for all we receive, both the challenges as well as the joyful times. Without the hope of Jesus we have nothing. Despite our current circumstance, He promises us our place

I love any type of water...  rain, rivers, ponds, lakes, the ocean... even sitting by a waterfall.  When we lived at the lake, my studio was about twenty feet across the back of the house overlooking both a 5 acre catfish pond and the main lake was to my left where I watched the sunset every evening. It was heavenly!! The negative part was constant water moccasins and copperheads. You had to be on watch where ever you stepped!  We all know the Bible is rich with powerful symbolism. Especially those snakes.  The one symbol that is important to me personally, is water. It represents faith, salvation, and provision, reminding me of its importance in both our physical and spiritual existence. Comparatively, water is crucial for sust

This painting, A Swirl of Dreams, is in the holding process !  Meaning I worked on it two or three weeks, adding layer after layer and I think I am done, but I have to watch it for a few days!  Every child, and especially little girls, like to twirl and swirl in circles.  The world blurs to colors and light and creates a joyful place to dream. Do you Dream? I always was a dreamer and I loved to read... today I have been diving into a book called 27,000 Steps by Sara Thurman... it is an Epic Marriage Story guided in faith by leaving a legacy. The book is linked to Amazon if you click it.   I am only four chapters in and somehow at the same time reading an article about  ... are you ready?   The Power of Narrative to Heal by James Sale.

I knew something was wrong tonight when I got in the shower and I was too tired to sing. We have been involved the past three or more months with a dear family member that took a fall and things have progressed with many changes in their life and in all of ours.  Painting has not come to a full stop, just slowed down, and I promise to share this next week what I have been working on.  Why Roses in a photo?  These are roses from. my youngest son two years ago for Mother's Day. Deep red roses filled our home with a sweet fragrance.  What does this have to do with singing in the shower?  I love to sing... when I am happy, when I am sad, when I am scared...but not so much when I am tired!   First choice are all the old hymns I grew up with

Captured ...Blooms by Texas Artist Laurie Pace. Patterns in Abstract, Color is Constant.

"Every painting has a reason and a season. It felt like abstract but I did not know how it would progress. I sectioned the canvas in quarters and laid basic colors in weaving them between.  I worked while the paint was crazy wet. I wanted the edges to form the boundary defining objects.  Can you see repeated patterns in this painting? The purple, red and blue merge through three times.  Yellow patterns in quarters three times... and three yellow pulls on or close to the vase.  Three large turquoise areas around the outside of the vase. Two on one side and one on the opposite side. So much of this is accidental, but is it truly accidental?  Part of painting is the intuitive pull of the palette knife as if in rhythm to the music playing in the room. Purposeful painting never has fresh

From way back in 2004 before I was blogging. That did not start until late 2006 . Back then I was painting up to two paintings a day and selling on Ebay. Back then it was a perfect place for an artist that loved to paint. I was on their platform until spring 2010 when the rules made it easy for foreign artists to rip off the American Artists painting on Ebay and sell their version of our work. I left then.  By that time I had several galleries selling my work. I will always remember my first sold painting in an auction was a basket of apples.  The history of my work has been ever evolving.  "Color is a constant in Laurie's work." The challenge to explore and discover content while painting remains primary. Navigating in this new world of 'pandemic'
