"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." 2 Corinthians 9:6 The summer heat has been harsh on our yard and our flowers. We are in round two of sowing more Zinnia seeds. As you can see in the photo above, it is EASY to cull out seeds from the dead or dying blooms and have seeds for more blooms this year or saving them for next year.  The last few years we have not had much luck with our Zinnia beds.   The seeds above are from our Marigolds. These are helpful for gardens in reproduction by bringing in 'helpers' to pollinate. They also reduce bugs in the area.  I did not know till this weekend how many seeds were in one marigold bloom... Let's just say fifty plus, or maybe one hundred

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Four Abreast 30 x 40  Oils on Canvas SOLD  by Laurie Pace   COLOR COLOR COLOR... it meets you coming at you with brilliant yellows and vivid reds in this contemporary abstract horse painting! Painted in my Golden Pond Studio in 2010, I am revisiting the heat wave months of Texas right now.  The horses are painted with a pulled palette knife. I love giving each horse their own contemporary look with different colors, so none of the them look the same. I believe this was a commissioned painting but not for sure. Most of these were painted as commissions at this point because I did not want o flood the market and it allowed me the ability to work with colors the buyer loved.  Commissions are welcome right now. Looking back to June in 2010... I am remembering this was a commissioned horse painting. I had done a series of these colorful paintings of three hors es the year before. It was hot that June in 2010 and I painted it in the back studio of my home overlooking the lake and our catfish pond.   I am up to any commissions if you are ready for something new and 'hot' in your life! " Hot town, summer in the city -  Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty.  Been down, isn't it a pity -  Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city. " 1966 The Lovin Spoonful   Still today, I find myself confronted by unexpected challenges in our daily life  and learning to lean more minute by minute with the Lord.  I know this is happening to many of you, although t

Not my normal blog but not the normal day.  Today a good friend was buried at the Dallas National Cemetery and we drove to be there to honor her, comfort her family and also visit Terry's Dad's gravesite where he and his Mom were buried.  " No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord .” Isaiah 54:17 B.W. was a Navy Nurse. She served her country just as her Dad did before her. She is survived by four beautiful adult children and many grandchildren and she was loved by all her knew her. Arriving with Flags Flying When you arrive at the Cemetery, the flags are always flying
