This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. It is beautiful.  This is from Sunday Morning around 7:30.  Does not get much prettier waking up to the soft autumn sky.  Can you see the colors from the painting?   The horse photo I used was by Helmut

This is the spirit of the paint in full force from the beginning stroke of color to the end. This is the joy in painting. Happiness found the painting and me. T. S. Elliot wrote: “For last year's words belong to last year's language - And next year's words await another voice.  And to make an end is to make a beginning." The colors of the horse reflect the royal color of purple. Horse 88... only 12 more to go! Saturday... time is flying past this week and Christmas is less than a week away. Terry and I are blessed to live so close to family again.  Plans are in place to share time with as many family memb

Breathe and know God has

I know I posted this sketch on canvas probably in June or July... and it sat in the studio. Today I picked it up and began slapping colors on the surface.  That is never enough, but it is a foundation and a start.  Wait till you see the finished painting tomorrow. The spirit that works through the knife in my hands amazes me. I do not know where it comes from.  Please stop by the blog tomorrow and see the final

John Denver singing in the background of course... and one of my unusual palettes of all earth tones sauced with a bit of dark red.  This abstract horse painting sold from Mirada Fine Art. Layers of palette knife oils spread piling high and mixing together in natural formations. Sweet calm energy flows from this one, like that sweet time you take as you savor something good. Florida Sunrise Painted Ponies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Horse Paintings

Florida Sunrise   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014 Florida Sunrise by Laurie Pace  Size: 15 x 30   Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  My cousin was here from Florida with her lovely granddaughter. We spent time all over Dallas and also time with the guitar, harp and in the studio painting horses. From our trips to the beach in Florida, the blues of the water and the brilliant blue skies and bright yellow sun plays through my memory bank providing colors for this Painted Pony Pull.  It is unusual because it is the count of 8 ponies and I usually paint odd numbers.  Just seem to fit better as I worked across finding horses in the paint.  His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.   Habakkuk 3:4  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter.
