RIGHT OF PASSAGE 30 X 40 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting A Day Make me an offer on this one! SUNDAY MORNING!!! Terry is home and we are heading for Krum United Methodist Church this morning! It is north of us, but we thought we would go hear the message by a good friend! The painting evolved from Constance Demby's music. Interwoven textures and colors of warm and cool in contrast. Crimson red to symbolize the blood of our Lord and the cross in the faded background with two hands reaching down to gather up the figure. The warm light of the Spirit surrounds the figure, just as it does us. The weather is unbelievable for Texas...we have cool mornings and pleasant days~ Sunshine and happy times! Terry and I planted our tomato plants, squash, okra, cucumbers and bell peppers of different colors. He has been working on our front flower beds as well as is pretty tired, but knows the finished product will be solid. We went out to eat with Stacey and Larry yesterday afternoon to our
Moonlight Two 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. Saturday early morning and I have a mega painting day ahead. I played too much yesterday only finish a large flower I posted on Artbyus. This painting I finished the day before....GORGEOUS colors if you enlarge it....and subtle details. Terry is home today and will be working on our front flower beds. Change is in the air, feels more like fall, but it is spring. In our lives our arms are open for direction and we wait in anticipation for the gift God will provide. Meanwhile, we must give thanks for all we do have and know He will continue to provide the best of what we need. (Note NEED not WANT) Sometimes we do not allow ourselves the privilege of what we deserve in life, and then in other times we expect we are deserving of much more. I am only confident I have the tools and gifts He has given me and the wisdom to use them. Grace to all, Laurie It often amazes me as I write this blog daily, I do not re
Arabian Nights Two 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Good morning from Texas! It is a balmy 55 degrees outside and will be warming up to 80 today! I am going to be painting for my New York Show this weekend and working on a second commission piece for Spirit and Eddie's mom. Also need to finish up pieces for a shop in Rowlett Texas. This Arabian is painted in a soft spirited way with my trademark use of odd colors in places! Part of that fauvistic flavor I love to add. It sold the day I painted it and posted it in my store on eBay. Forgiveness and finding peace is important in our lives. With small things and big things. You cannot find a peace or light with in yourself if you are harboring ill feelings towards situations or people in your journey. Trying to let go of your anger is often difficult. We always hang on to thoughts and things, reliving the pain because we won't let go of it. It is not what others do to us, it is what we do to ourselves. Sto
TEXAS MISSION TWO 22 x 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. Aching muscles. Should not have worked in the flower bed yesterday. UGH. BUT I will paint... well maybe. Might sit to paint. This is my second Mission painting for Texas. I thought I had posted it already but did not see it when I looked back...if I did, enjoy it a second time! Gorgeous violets, blues contrasting with yellow and creams... My cousin left today to return to Boise Idaho. I don't think he liked the Texas weather and our bugs. He wanted to return to his mountains. Today I will be cleaning up the aftermath of a guest in the house, but remembering some of the fun moments of the visit. My cousin was deep into astrology and the planets controlling his life. I listened patiently as he often spoke of the planets controlling his future and his past and how different planets pass into different houses in his layout of life. For me it is easier! My Father created this world and it is His p
UNITY SPIRIT OF THREE Horses 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. The storms have passed through the area and I do believe we received about 8 inches of rain or more. The streets and bar ditches were all under the same lake as it crept near our homes. The unusual part was this storm did not press through swiftly as they normally do...it was moving slowly and the storm moved at an angle keeping us wet and stormy for almost 8 straight hours. Very unusual. SO, I did not paint yesterday. Something about wet paint and wet air...hummm...But this painting is in a new color series for me with the deep blue and violet backgrounds. I thought I had posted this one and my Texas Mission, but I couldn't trace them back this month in my blog, so I hope I am not repetitious! Very unusual colors pulled through on this one....enjoy it! My cousin is still visiting from Boise. He has his treat of Texas with the weather. He spent several hours at the sink cleaning and
HORSES galloping to Hong Kong 24 X 24 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD This is a Commission Piece on its way to an interior decorator in Hong Kong! Neighborhood meeting last night discovered we all have mineral rights under our acreage and there is a gas well being drilled about two miles away that will be providing revenue for the area....could be $0 or it could be $10 or it could be several hundred a month. We had no idea. Terry and I are both environmentalist and really do not like this, but there is not much we can do about it. You will hear more as the process continues! This painting is going to Hong Kong, along with three others! They horses are excited about the travel. The first painting leaves today and this one and another will follow next Monday. Yesterday found us planting the trees that arrived! No I haven't had time to breathe or load the pics yet, but I will. We took my visiting cousin into Southlake Texas to eat at a Fabulous Mexican Restaurant...yum
DAYBREAK Seascape 18 x 24 inches Oil on Panel A Painting A Day Bid Here Starting bid $169.00 OUR TREES are coming! Our Trees are coming. I have been up early waiting for the tree man. He got lost. He was trying to come before morning traffic but was using a Ft Worth Mapsco and we are Denton County. Doesn't work! I really need to take pictures of the progress in the back, hummm, another blog? Eeek I don't think so, but maybe I will just to post pictures on of the changes in the house. My cousin Bruce arrived safely from Boise Idaho. He is visiting here and then on to Washington DC to stay with my friend Niki. He does absolutely wonderful things with antique toasters and appliances and loves to redo OLD homes, not the huge ones but the old ones that were sold in total from like Sears etc. Did you know in the old days you could purchase HOUSE kits like that??? Pretty darn cool. He also can do regular old homes and has a flair for things like this. I didn't know him
Spirit and Eddie 30 x 40 Oil on Canvas Commission A Painting a Day Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie Pace Janis had purchased one of my "the Gathering" paintings and had me do a second one for her living room. She contacted me recently to do two paintings for her mom in the same style...definitely contemporary impressionism. BOLD colors and black outlines all playing apart of the composition. I will start the second one when my white paint arrives. I am totally out. Ordered it weeks ago...got all my other colors, but not my white. Can't recommend DICKBLICK for fast delivery at all. EVER. Don't know why I continue to order from them Just returned from a three mile walk with my neighbor Cathy. I love the stimulating conversation that flows about our children, God and life in general. She is a bit younger by maybe 10 years and her kids are college age and a senior in high school. Mine are all over age 26! But the love Cath has for her dad and mom and for
HORSE and DOG 30 X 40 inches Oil on Canvas... the beginnings of a Commission painting A Painting a Day CONTACT ME for Commission Work. Laurie Pace This is really not the title for this, but the beginnings of a commission piece I am working on. The collector has an older Appy and a gorgeous Airedale. When I asked about positioning and the relationship between the two, she laughed and said they do not talk or share! They are both jealous of each other...so I chose to use the original pose of the Appy she sent me and put the Airedale at an opposite position with his haughty stance...or should I say naughty stance....if he is ANYTHING like my Kerry Blue Terriers, there is some arrogance there. The Appy has a dark tail and we will be going with VIVID colors in the background with marigolds, crimson reds and greens... very startling effect as the collector desires! Will post the final painting tomorrow! The weather is ABSOLUTELY HEAVEN SENT!!! I just walked almost two miles with Talena
ROOSTER FIVE 24 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting A Day. Contact me if you are interested in this painting. Laurie Pace Well, I am ready to paint this morning...and I have a list of TO DO things. I put up a LARGE white posterboard that I can write on and erase for things to to. I have this issue with memory now that I am over fifty! So as I think of things I list them immediately. As I do them I wipe them off. Was doing really good yesterday starting with about 18 things on my list and made it down to 6 things left and now this morning I am back up to sixteen things and I can think of about four more to post! I painted with Trina yesterday and played catch up here and there with bills and house work and wash. I have class this afternoon and have to finish my lesson prep but hope to paint a bit more today. The above rooster is too impressionistically recognizable for me. I want to swing back to the more abstract pulls of color, but meanwhile this one is full with col
SUNFLOWERS HWY 287 South 22 x 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day A vivid fun sunflower painting with contrast and color! Contact me if you are interested in this painting. It goes on auction this week on eBay. Thoughts this morning were based for all mothers out there. As I woke this morning I realized how much (Everything) is out of my control. As a mother you are always running around planning things and trying maintain control on a diverse family unit going ten directions at one time. Releasing that control is next to impossible, but has to be done or only anxiety and frustration result. I prayed this morning for all mothers...with thoughts directed not only to the moms of the injured and deceased students from Virginia Tech but also for the mother of the young man that killed and injured so many. Can you even begin to imagine what emotions are rolling through that family and that mother? As a mom you only want what is best for your children and when the child becomes an
Santa Fe Afternoon Shower 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting A Day It is going to be a rainy day today...and varnishing will have to wait.....we are expecting storms today....so I won't paint much today either. This painting is a fascinating use of color and balance. It is for the contemporary art buyer for sure! Niki phoned from Virginia where all the Noreaster hit...she was on generator power until the generator broke. She just phoned from her cell phone this morning. It is 50 degrees and dropping in her home and she is hanging on. The generator folks were there last night and could not fix it, coming back today...but that is after a TOW truck had to get them out of the area last night. I will remind myself that a little hail and wind is nothing to cold and wet and wind with no power. At least we have a fireplace and can build a fire. Prayers are that way not just for her but for everyone and on top of that for the families of the victims of the shooting. Sometimes our

This is one of my horizon horse pulls....but this is evolving. I will be itching to paint on Wednesday. I have been dreaming another approach to the work....wait and watch! Yesterday the buffet brunch at Blue Mesa was scrumptious. My Mom, Dad, both brothers and their wives, my niece, my daughter and her husband and my youngest son were all there with me. We were celebrating my younger brothers birthday! I had eaten there during regular dining hours, but not for the brunch on Sunday. I will have to do it again with Terry! THE RACE is over. I am soooo thankful. A trip of 10 min and 8miles took 45 minutes. Very painful. Later in the day that same trip would be almost
COLOR OF KOI Three April 2007 Oil on Canvas 24 X 24 inches A Painting A Day. To purchase, Contact me. Laurie Pace Good Sunday Morning! Today is the BIG race at the Texas Motor Speedway. Usually it means I am not leaving the house, but I will try to make it out to a brunch for my youngest brothers birthday. As he is 11 years younger than I am, I love seeing him grow older! I painted myself out last night...actually yesterday, painting 13 straight hours with out food and not leaving the studio except to let the dogs out. It was cold outside yesterday and cloudy until late...so I cranked the music and worked with palettes I do not normally work with. You will see some of those paintings this week on the blog. The Koi were done three days ago and are full of light and color; it is painted with a palette knife! THICK PAINT. Seems like three is the number this week...I am doing a lot in threes. The thought today at daily word is remembering. Remembering those you love that are gone fro
Trees on the Trail Oil on Board 6 X 6 inches Click here to buy. $89.00 A Painting A Day It is dark, but the sun should be up soon. It was quite a night as the first storms blew through around six. It was a squall that pushed through in about 15 minutes and the sun came out! BUT there were tornadoes bouncing around the area. About 8 p.m. as the news continued to cover the storm moving toward the east...the wind picked up and it grew greenly dark outside again. The dogs were going CRAZY. A second storm hit out of nowhere and we lost power. I phoned my daughter on my cell phone and asked her to check the computer radar...and sure enough a back cell was pushing through. I spent the evening reading a book with my huge 48 hour cell flashlight and Terry was connected to a movie on his IPOD. When we went to bed we shared the IPOD with each of us plugged into an ear clip! It was Julie Andrews in Hawaii. It appears still cloudy outside this morning. The power is back on and I am eager t
The Fishing Village 30 X 40 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission Piece A Painting A Day Well, this was Sue's birthday present from her husband. She had asked me MONTHS ago to do this and I was so swamped I had no time...but about two months ago I finally started it and finished it in time to cure it enough to send. With her husband's help...it was a total surprise!!! She phoned last night in the midst of my art classes and we all wished her a happy birthday. I really enjoyed painting this one and will probably do another similar to explore it further! We are expecting MEGA storms today so I am going to finish up a painting and clean house. Makes sense doesn't it? If a mega storm is coming with tornadoes you clean house right? Wrong, you stay busy, altho I am debating unhooking my outside drives to put them ina safe place...will have to just watch the weather. I was suppose to go into Dallas today, but I did not because of the races at the NASCAR track down the road. I

I am preparing to hit the canvas for the next few hours and then must clean house and do lesson prep for the art classes today. We will be doing NIGHT SCENES using acrylic paints...on what I have not decided! LOL Their imaginations always soar past my expectations so we will see. Last night we walked the dogs and I wore a jacket...this has to be my favorite time of the year
Blooms at the Arboretum One ~ Flower Garden 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas $199.00 Click here to contact me to Buy. A Painting a Day Such an interesting day....yesterday was filled with good visits at lunch and then UGH digging in my father in laws yard bringing home bulbs ready to pop open with blooms! Also brought home two little oak trees and one pecan tree. This painting is a passionate beauty and was a delight to paint. I received email last night from Diane Whitehead (ARTOUTWEST) with links to the dismal forecast with eBay. All of us wondering why bids dropped off...totally to ZERO. Has to do with ebay and Google duking it out and eBay's new adjustment to things where listings you put on eBay will not show up for almost a day and then you loose the freshness of NEWEST Listed. Those artists like me that pay $25-35 a listing to come up high in the searches are finding the investment is not worth the money. You end up only showing up in the almost ending searching, and only t
First Bluebird Oil on Board 6 X 6 inches $89 Contact me to Purchase. Laurie Pace or click here to buy in my eBay store. CLICK HERE A Painting a Day Good morning. We survived our trip to Oklahoma...my hair is shorter too! it will grow. We got home so frustrated with border traffic that we cooked all afternoon. Terry made his mother's meatloaf recipe and I made home made mac and Cheese. Also started some homemade Baked beans in the crock pot, but even this morning they are not done! We boxed the remaining paintings last night and will ship today. I think we are running by his dad's to pick up an Oak trees and some peonies! I am excited but our beds are not ready and the freezing temps took out the garden. This is the second in my tiny bird series. I sold the Chickadee immediately and put the other two in my eBay store. If you are not an eBay buyer, you may simply email me and I can sell it to you. Hope your day is filled with light! Pray for those around you today. I will
Cottages at the Beach Oil on Canvas 22 x 28 inches A Painting A day GOOD MORNING!!! The house is quiet...Terry is still sleeping. We will be heading up to Oklahoma later today and of course working on packing and shipping! We spent Easter Sunday on the Road early for Church 65 miles east of us. The Service opened with my favorite Easter Song CHRIST THE LORD HAS RISEN TODAY....and my day was made! From that service we visited our old Sunday school Class where they are studying and debating Timothy and the role of women in the church. That was heated discussion to say the least. We jumped in the car then and hustled over to St Paul United Church of Christ to enjoy services with my parents. The sermon was on Mary finding the empty tomb and how she was frantic to fix everything (like most women are) but being still she found the risen Lord, he was there the whole time, but she was so busy trying to do to do to do, she didn't see him or recognize him. I reached over and grabbed my
Chickadee 6 x 6 inches Oil on Board SOLD A Painting A Day Good morning from COLD COLD Texas. It is our Easter Freeze right on time. I worked on three birds yesterday and this one is already sold and has a home to fly to in about a week when it is dry. It was a very soul searching time as I worked on these little guys, I did a robin and a bluebird, both are in my ebay store listed at $89. I have been challenged to do an owl....we will see. The Good Friday Service we went to yesterday was a moving trail of love from the Lord. From the calling of the disciples, through the entire store of Jesus's moments, candles extinguishing with the story ... we ended at the kneeling alter, each having pulled nails out of the offering plate and holding them in our hands, meditating and praying. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. The service ended with deep thoughts of where we all were in our lives and our walk with the Lord. I know for my self there is so much work to be done. They have put
ON THE ROAD RED Horses 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas contact me for information Laurie Pace GOOD MORNING...and Brrr... did I say Brrr?? It is cold outside in north Texas. The kids are all out of school and my piano student is coming early today for her lesson and then I hope to paint in the studio. I am working on some Koi and Sunflowers that are both half way done. Nadine received two of her three commission pieces yesterday and is waiting for one more to arrive. I may post these pieces later next week so you can see them. She has been a constant delight to work with and a treasure to get to know. I hope the horses bring joy to her life and her home! I love painting for folks and allowing energy to flow through to the canvas thinking of that person and where the painting is going to live! The painting I have posted is another horizon horse piece with the crimson red background. Nadine bought my original of this approach, my first red background piece that had five horses in it!
CITY BLOCKS One Cityscape Oil on Canvas 30 x 40 inches HUGE!!!! Click here to bid, Opening Bid $269.00 This is a huge painting, full of color! Inspired when we visited Mike and Cindy's house and I saw all her new furniture in her den, couches with all the primary colors! What fun. There kids are all off to college and life beyond, so it was time for fun and a face lift. They redid their kitchen too. She went to a seminar about collecting rainwater. We saw the gizmos she built out of trash cans enabling her gutters to run rain water straight into the containers. Then on the bottom of each trash can she had mounted spikets that you can attach the hose to. SMART!!! If we all did that we would have lower water bills! Spoke with my mom yesterday. My niece broke her foot this weekend. She is mid twenties adn this is definitely something that slows you down at any age! Prayers for healing for her...fast healing! This weekend we will gather at a new restaurant in Dallas, The Rembra
QUIET OF SUNRISE 22 X 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid Starting bid $199.00 Good morning! Today is gorgeous, sixty degrees and sunny. I could not have ordered a better day! I give thanks and praise to the LORD for His beauty and the weather! Meanwhile this morning I finished this Venice Sunrise and have it listed on Artbyus.com. THICK paint in my tradition but with a paint brush and brilliant colors. I am working on a second large commission piece of roosters today, so maybe tomorrow I can post that one...it is a long paint with it with at least seven layers of paint and impasto! Yesterday at the grocery store we were checking out. Krogers always hires mentally challenged individuals and we have always appreciated this. I think more so after losing Grant. As the man was trying to figure out how to use our cloth grocery bags (I take my own) Terry gently helped him and was so tender with this man, who was at least 35 years old. I sucked it up but by the tim
Texas Sunflowers Hwy 75 Oil on Canvas 11 x 14 inches A Painting a Day SOLD Good morning! Boy was I glad to be back home yesterday. We drove into Dallas for a Doc visit, groceries and a stop for shoes at Whole Earth Provisions. BUT from the first step out of the car in Dallas my sinus reacted violently swelling shut to the ozone in the air. After we left and arrived home early evening,...but bed I was fine. They say this spring is the worst on record for allergy sufferers and they also said it was actually worse in the city than the country which is reverse of what you would think. Has something to do with the pollen clinging to the pollution in the air. On with life! Today is finish wash day and prepare for painting this week. I will be working on another sunflower similar to the one above. This one is on auction with ARTBYUS.com. Wish more buyers looked there, much nicer to work with the Togels and this great auction place for art. You might check it out!~ This painting has T
Spring Love Horses 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day What a gorgeous day yesterday~ a perfect Palm Sunday! I didn't do much painting with church and family, but am posting one I finished during the week last week that will be on auction later this week on eBay. (Unless you want to buy it now!) A playful approach to color and contrast to bring in thoughts of spring and the beginnings of a new love! My grandson Jonathan was over yesterday. He brought his bike and enjoyed the safety of our little town to ride around in. He is so much fun to be around. He could not wait for his BAMPA to arrive home from the airport to play with him. They were inseparable from the time Jon was 18 months old until his mother regained custody of him last year. It has been a rough emotional year for us as she has limited our visitation out of her need to control with no thought to Jonathan. He does not understand why he cannot see us or be here. He is still waiting one year later for us
