OF the Evening By Texas Artist Laurie Pace  24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas   This is a transition painting... that was part of another painting. A stepping stone of experience and color on the canvas as it evolved into a different painting. I think I miss this one. I liked it when I did it, but then I knew I had to step further. So it does not exist anymore... What is your worth? I was standing in the midst of friends and someone was referring to their "worth" as in money and assets.  It rather surprised me as this is not the norm for conversation in this small east Texas town. Terry and talked about it on the way home from church yesterday contemplating what the true 'worth of man' is.   Are you looking at it from man's view of man or God's view of man? Cash in hand? 'Balanced' 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Painted Ponies    On Golden Pond Blog We have been visiting our daughter, son-in-law and our cherished grand-daughter for the past few days.  I had a melt down last weekend that required a break from routine, so we had an invite and we came. It has been so enjoyable reconnecting with her. She calls Terry BAMPA just as Jon called him and I have heard her utter OMA one time.  We were in the Justin Outlet store in Justin TX and Terry was looking at boots.  I was chasing Tink around the store.  She topped in front of those mirrors on the floor where you check out how good the boots look on your feet... and she plopped down to talk to the "baby" in the mirror.  Then she was up and running.  By the time I caught her, she was grinning.  She looked at me and said "Where's Bampa?"

Buy both at $125 : Laurie " And he said, "Who told you that you were naked ? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from? " " Genesis 3:11 A Painting a Day: Nude studies I have not painted in a long time. I may not be done with these...but they are close. Painting small is always a challenge and I am accustomed to doing nudes with a palette knife in multiple colors. These are with soft oils applied with brush. My thought for the day: When I think of the word "naked"... I don't really think of being with out clothes... I think of being emotionally open. It is a vulnerability of the soul. The long term discussion of Eve and the apple still goes back to Adam stood there and watched her do it. He was guilty by not stepping up and saying "no". When I was painting these two figures I k
In My Mind Contemporary Art Nude Oil Painting Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches of thick paint; See pictures below. Contact me for additional information or to purchase: Laurie Time for one of my few nudes I do every year. I probably paint four a year and it has been about five months since the last one! You will find very thick paint forming the planes on the body and of course my trademark color palette. I hesitated before blogging this morning praying about content and where my thoughts were to even start my day today. I truly feel we would be so much better off with out the television and the media. One of those love hate relationships we have. Sometimes we have a love hate relationship with in ourselves raging as well. God has so much planned and available for us to do in our lifetime and most of us never reach our potential. For some reason we live conditionally in our lives trying to stay in control and not trusting Him to be in control. Jesus has warned
Inspired Back Nude Oil by Laurie Justus Pace Inspired by William Merritt Chase late 1800's 11 x 14 oil on Linen Panel Framed in beautiful ornate gold frame. Contact me for availability. This is heading to Jackson Hole for the July 12th opening. But it is available to purchase. Laurie What a busy Saturday! We did make our CPS Behavior Management Class. It was taught by Patricia Miller out of Euless, Texas. She was AWESEOME! Every parent should have to take a class from this woman. Her teachings are to the point on handling children. She is a way better personality than Dr Phil on teaching and engaging you into role playing and understanding the mind of the child. As we were in class I received a buzz from brother that mom was having emergency Gall Bladder removal. She came through the surgery fine and hopefully will come home today. She looked pretty rough still last night when we popped in for a five minute visit. Dad is here sleeping soundly (I hope for awhile). (I want to
BALANCED Nude Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Contact me for pricing and include the name of the painting. Laurie Balanced is a good place to start the week. The window installers will be here today to begin windows. We are only doing 1/3 of the house but the major part that is important with large glass windows on the west side of the house and two huge 8 ft sliding glass doors that are non functional because they are broken. AFTER Tuesday...wow I will not know how to act!!! Finding Balance in you life is an important thing. How does a busy woman balance church, home, work, children, a husband, meetings, hobbies etc.? I believe in my heart it is much more than time management. I believe it is in centering and balancing yourself. My dear husband always says to Keep the Lord in the center. He visions in his head a circle and God is in the center of this circle. Everything else is circling in orbit around God in the center. The balance of everything is always chang
EARLY MORNING HOUR Nude by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD I am up and have been up since three thirty. Heater was running with an unusual rattle. Morgan and Terry were up in the attic yesterday pulling up old barrier covering. This morning we will have the radiant barrier sprayed in and 18 inches of insulation laid down. We only have two inches right now. Something must have gotten knocked around in the removal leaving a rattle. I am actually sleepy enough to go back to bed now but the day dawns at five and I am going to spend the next hour cleaning the studio while Terry sleeps. QUIETLY! It was a busy family weekend as will be the next six to eight weeks. Just keep our family in prayer right now. As a child did you grow up with the Golden Rule. I hear harps playing when I type and think that! "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." When I interviewed with a panel of eight principals and an HR person for a school district, one of the
SOFT NUDE Nude Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 SOLD I do not think I am quite finished, will work on the face some more today, but it is close. I started this yesterday and went through so many revisions my head spins. My usually nudes are colorful and thick with paint. This one is soft and solid at the same time. I am listening to harp music here in the studio and with it's softness I am ready to go back to bed. Thought I was going to run errands with my mom, but that was canceled, so I will paint today. God's perfect presence is with in you today and you will be healed. It may not be from something you have in mind, but it will be for something he has on his mind. Our perfect good and our delight has always been primary in his plan for each of us. Step back from your priorities and your supplications and listen to what He has for your life. It is perfect for it is His plan. Grace, Laurie "The man and his wife were both naked , and they felt no shame.&qu
