"Nothing like discovering a painting from 2007 and falling in love again with the colors and the unique conversation between two of the horses.”

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Falling into Winter Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Falling into Winter… My Summer Dream This morning brought a tiny Texas rain, old paintings rediscovered while cleaning out years of files, and thoughts about what it means to let go of some of the weight we've carried. Perhaps that's why my mind wandered north...to Newfoundland, to a place Terry has wanted to visit for years and a piece of his family's history waiting there. Maybe this season isn't about going backward at all. Maybe it's about keeping the treasures, releasing the weight, picking up the camera, and asking: Where haven't we been yet? Time is moving forward. Why wait?   Elle  Read the complete story at EllePace.com. Life definitely has is own rhythm were we continue to grow and discover and see things differently.

"It is not about what was yesterday... or about tomorrow. It is truly about today." © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Red Poppies in Blue Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Looking at a painting from 2011 reminded me that every season of life has its own rhythm. As artists, we continue to grow, to see differently, and to discover new colors we might have missed years before. Today, I'm grateful for a quiet house, a peaceful heart, and the promise of new paintings waiting on the easel.   Read the full story at EllePace.com.   Elle Pace Laurie Pace, Elle Pace, Threads of Grace, poppy painting, floral oil painting, palette knife painting, original oil painting, expressive flowers, faith and art, peaceful living, artist reflections, studio life, Texas artist, contemporary impressionism, music and painting, creative journey Shop other Available Artwork.  Follow the Spirit of the Paint... with...

Under Texas Stars   © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Some of our sweetest memories begin with music. Long before I became a professional artist, a little transistor radio filled my upstairs bedroom while I painted on a drafting board that served as my first easel. Looking back, I realize music, friendships, faith, and art were already weaving together the threads of a life I could never have imagined. Yet it is all still there, beneath the surface, supporting every brushstroke or piece of our life ....

The book pages disappeared... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Haunted Mesa Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   One thing struck me that I don't think I have put into words before. Book pages disappear. The viewer cannot read them anymore. But they still determine everything that comes afterward. Isn't that exactly how our lives work? The books we've read. The people we've loved. The grief we've carried. The faith we've learned. The roads we've traveled. Much of it can no longer be seen. Yet it is all still there, beneath the surface, supporting every brushstroke or piece of our life that follows. That realization makes this painting above feel even richer to me than it did before. It isn't just about a haunted mesa. It's about the hidden foundations we all carry—and how they quietly shape the beauty that eventually appears. Bubbles in the Air, Horses Everywhere

Tiny Bubbles Everywhere..... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Tiny Bubbles Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Sometimes the paintings we almost paint become the ones that change everything. One summer, while my grandchildren were blowing bubbles across the backyard, I found myself painting a giant canvas filled with nothing but floating bubbles. I loved it. My galleries... not so much. They wanted horses. So, while the paint was still wet, I picked up my palette knife and let the painting lead the way. Those bubbles became horses. The painting sold within a week, but it also taught me something I've carried ever since: sometimes what feels like a detour is simply preparing us for the next chapter. Life has a way of doing that too. Read the full story and see the final horse painting on my website in the post.     Elle https://ellepace.com/blog-laurie-pace/bubbles-horses-726   Laurie Pac...

On My Easel: Commissioned

On My Easel © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Painting in Progress Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The Journey Unknown When you have a concept or idea for a client wanting an extremely large canvas a specific size to fit a frame they own... you really are not sure where the journey will take you.  The start begins with sketches and ideas floating between you and the client. Goals are set. Dates and a timeline is established.  Then you stretch the canvas and pray a lot.   Tied to the heart At this moment when the photo was taken, I had no knowledge of where it was going to go. It was to have two full wolves and one partial wolf, tying the painting into the heart of the client.  I clearly remember starting and then about four days later, changing quite a bit of my direction.  The cost of paint soared past $1000 easily as they layers built upon each other. If I come across additiona...

Nothing Wasted in My Studio!

Nothing Wasted © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 The Colors we Carry Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Woven Through the Wind The wind has been relentless in North Texas — carrying everything with it, just like memory and time. In the studio, I’ve been working the same way… blending leftover paint into new pieces. Nothing wasted. Everything becoming something  There is something grounding in that process — in taking what was once set aside and giving it new life. The knife moves differently when the paint already holds a history. It resists in places, blends unexpectedly in others, and those moments often lead to something I could not have planned. It reminds me to trust the process again… to let go of control just enough to allow the painting to become what it wants to be. the heart.  Sharing new works from this process — “Wind,” “Rising,” and “Purple Haze.” More on the blog.     Elle   Scrapping...
