Night Crossing Horse Paintings, Contemporary Palette Knife Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Night Crossing     © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:24 x 24  Oil on Canvas. Sold Prints are available. Contact me. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I fell in love with the movement on this painting as it evolved on the canvas. The palette was quiet compared to my normal rainbow palette, but the energy was high and the movement of paint led the eye throughout this contemporary horse painting.  Completed with caramel browns, ultramarine blues, white, mauves and mixes of all three...the palette offers up earth tones in a quiet deep thrust.  You cannot plan this type painting. It comes from deep within the creative spirit.    In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;     in the morning I lay my requests before you     and wait expectantly. Cut Away Over the Moon, Palette Knife Guitar Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Cut Away Over the Moon by ©Laurie Pace 2014 Cut Away Over the Moon   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:24 x 36  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This contemporary abstract painting is of my Taylor guitar. It is one of the loves of my life.  Custom made for me to play, small and easy to manage if we travel... and my arms never tire of stroking and holding her. She is the inspiration of this painting. She has a 'cut away' at the top which for those of you that do not play guitar, it allows me to finger further on the neck of the guitar.   The "over the moon" part of the title is from the layers of music on the original surface.    This palette knife Guitar painting was NOT as easy thing yesterday. I was on my feet over five hours as it evolved several directions. I painted it more like my old pear paintings of days almost ten years ago... and tried to keep the freshness of thick paint like my gu

Not here yet.... Contemporary Abstract in the making by Laurie Pace

Not here yet...   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size: 24 x 36  Unsure what media...but so far paper and acrylic in this contemporary abstract painting. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  You know how things do not always go as you think they will? Life seems to happen doesn't it.  Well it did. I worked this out with a few layers of acrylic polished in by fingers, soft cloth and rubbed off with paper towel.  I did not want to rush the painting. Not sure still if it will be horses or something musical.  Will you come back tomorrow if I promise it will be finished?  It will.  Nothing will come between me and this canvas till then. In peace I will lie down and sleep,     for you alone, Lord,     make me dwell in safety  Psalm 4:8 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter. Florida Sunrise Painted Ponies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Horse Paintings

Florida Sunrise   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014 Florida Sunrise by Laurie Pace  Size: 15 x 30   Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  My cousin was here from Florida with her lovely granddaughter. We spent time all over Dallas and also time with the guitar, harp and in the studio painting horses. From our trips to the beach in Florida, the blues of the water and the brilliant blue skies and bright yellow sun plays through my memory bank providing colors for this Painted Pony Pull.  It is unusual because it is the count of 8 ponies and I usually paint odd numbers.  Just seem to fit better as I worked across finding horses in the paint.  His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.   Habakkuk 3:4  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter. Horse 56 Ode to Joy Contemporary Horse Paintings by Laurie Pace

Horse 56 Ode to Joy   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 56 Ode to Joy by Laurie Pace  Size:8 x 10  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This painting is thick.  It is really thick. I have some additional close up images on the main website if you want to see them. I loved the way the colors blended throughout the background and in the center of the horse. His head is tilted up to feel the sun on his face in the early morning cool breeze. The grass is wet and covered in dew and the day has just begun.  Do you stretch in bed and feel this way sometimes? Eager to get up and start your day?  That is one wonderful thing about life, we are not 'stuck' to a time clock, but we still stay responsible to what needs to be accomplished in our lives. What brings your joy to the surface? Mine is the early morning sunrise. He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain

Horse 54 Summer Twilight by Laurie Pae Horse 54  Summer Twilight   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size: 9 x 12  Mixed Media on Canvas Board Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Always fun to do mixed media pieces. This has in the background pages from a western novel. Over that are rubbed layers of glazing and then acrylic on the top surface. I only do a few of these with a touch of realism to offer something other than abstract.  Maybe these horses will be more collectible because they are rare for me...who knows.  If it calls to your heart, visit the site on the link above to see if it is still available. Horse 53 Summer Sun Waterhole a Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Horse 53 Summer Sun Waterhole by Laurie Pace Horse 53 Summer Sun Waterhole   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:8 x 10  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  We finally hit the 100 degrees last week and there is no escape. Then we had rain and 65 degrees.  This week it is back up in the high 90's again.  This is what prompted this painting...the summer heat. There is only vivid bright shades of blue sky, red eyelids when you close your eyes to the brilliant yellow sun... and a tiny bit of green grass in the shade. Couldn't have captured it any better in this contemporary horse painting.  And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,     in the place of justice—wickedness was there. Sold Commissioned Painting Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I think I am calling it done. Painted to their favorite music, one of which is one of our family's favorite, John Ford Coley. Will have to cure three or four weeks and it will ship to Houston to its new home. This contemporary horse painting flies south in August. I love painting for clients and truly work hard to make the experience memorable. This painting will come with a hard back book covering the painting as it was created. It is all part of the finishing progress. Contact me if you are interested in a commissioned painting.  I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.” But that also proved to be meaningless. “Laughter,” I said, “is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?” Ecclesiastes 2:1
