One Hundred Horse Paintings the Colors of Summer 2012  May 23, 2012  What defines you? Sometimes you feel overwhelmed by life, you cannot allow people to define you.  Do not empower them. My earthly father always taught me to not listen to the words of those that try to undermine you.  If God is your constant, let Him define you. Go forth in His light forgiving them as He forgives you each day.  When I saw this creek next to the road in Virginia, I had Terry pu...

White Wind Horse Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

©Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2012 Contact  Laurie  for Commission work or to purchase a painting. White Wind    By Texas Artist Laurie Pace    24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas   Of the Evening from yesterday, the nude painting transformed into White Wind, a white horse painting filled with color and energy... playful energy in this one. Joy is easy to describe here in the movement of the palette knife and the colors. May 21, 2012 The constants in life are around us to uplift us and support us. They are a reminder every moment of the day and night that God is with us and He has provided a world filled with His creations to be a constant reminder of His presence and His love for us.  Look around today and breathe in the beauty… the sky, the clouds, the rain, the sun, the moon, the stars, the grass, the trees, the water, the flowers, the snow, the wind … the list seems endless…. Just as...

Journey Horse Painting Progresses 28 x 42 inches  Oil on Canvas   The overlays on the blue were the next step in this  Journey. When our youngest son was in a near fatal car accident, it took over a year to get him back on course....and even then there was fall out from the accident that affected his life for the next ten years. Injuries of that magnitude leave a vulnerable place in our lives. All health challenges create that same vulnerability.  Often we cannot be healed in this lifetime and we must have faith in God to walk through our lives beside us with these illnesses or injuries.  Through our faith and His abiding strength we can make the best of each ...

Fall Foliage Sold in December from my representing Gallery in Santa Fe. 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Indwelling  If someone were ask to describe you with one word what would it be? What is indwelling in your so strongly that it is something identified with you?  HINT:   It is never what you think it is, believe me.  When we look in the mirror we see something totally different than everyone else sees.  We see what we want to see. So what do others see? When we are born we arrive totally dependent on others for our existence.  So from earliest moments we relate to 'others' before we learn to become aware of ourselves. If we were blessed with a loving family, we were kissed and nurtured and raised in God's light. We felt significant and loved and we grew up knowing ...

On this day of BLACK FRIDAY... I cannot help but think of the unbelievable quest of the public here in the USA to go out and shop for anything... and for everything. The need in America for immediate gratification believing it will provide happiness is very sad. In contrast the word 'sad' is not 'allowed' in the life of the average American because they spend their time trying to avoid sad, yet one in ten Americans suffer from some form of depression. A great-grandmother and the joy of her great grand-daughter. At what point in life do we realize that the giving of stu...

Progression Horse Painting Watering Hole by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on The Watering Hole I continue to layer color on color watching the blends develop. This is an intense process of uncertainty in the outcome. 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie       "Traveling a Road with Uncertainty and Expectation" Church last Sunday was filled with so much power and love that it is literally spilling over to this blog. A week ago we had a hands on healing ceremony for two of our church members. Both dear to us, but one I have known most of my life, Victoria.  She had surgery this week as did Andrea.  Our minister Jack led us in a healing ceremony anointing both women with oil from the Holy Land. They two women sat across from each other as Becky laid prayer shawls on their shoulders and we all came forward to pray over them. The power that surround...

Progression on Equine Art The Watering Hole by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on The Watering Hole This is the beginning of a new painting... you will see it in progress... it grows from the application of layers of paint.   24 x 36 Inches  Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Giving Thanks... is it just talk? Another 'job' we had in church last Sunday was to make a list of things we were thankful for. Jack was right on with this task and it brought a competitive nature out in most of us to make the longest list in the sixty seconds he provided. I noted on our row, the four of us basically had listed many of the same things. 1. God 2. Spouse 3. Family 4. Church 5. Friends 6. Community 7. Homes 9. Our gifts 10. Our blessings I think you get the point.  We were all pretty proud sharing that list with each other. Then Jack had us focus back on ...

Falling into Winter 30 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas   SOLD Painted Pony Signature Pull    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Hoover's Hills Terry and I were watching the morning news with all the latest coverage of the Wall Street protestors and he said it reminded him of Hoover's Hills. Okay, so I didn't know who or what Hoover's Hills were. Back in 1932 as the great Depression pressed the American people, the veterans that had served in the war had been promised extra pay but the contract was for bonus money in 1945.  Here were these veterans starving and unemployed, basically destitute. These men were promised $1.25 for each day  they served over seas and $1 a day for each day they served here in the states.   They were dubbed the BONUS ARMY as they set up camp across the river from the Capital at Anacostia Flats...

Snake River Abstract Horse Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Snake River Abstract Horse Painting  This piece was painted in January of 2008. It was SOLD then and the owner that has it needs to sell it for family needs right now. She just contacted me. It is an older piece but it has the beginnings of my edge into the more abstract.  It followed a trip to Jackson Hole and seeing the Snake River and all the buffalo and wild horses.   If you are interested in this painting, email Brenda here to purchase it. 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas      ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie        The Guiding Light Have you ever watched the clouds racing across the sky at different times of the day?  Morning clouds seem to scurry lightly as the sun breaks through. Afternoon clouds are heavier usually with some moisture or oncoming rain. Evening clouds are thick and adorned with highlights from...

When we got back we filled our plates with Terry's yummy lemon roasted chicken and fresh veggies and flipped on a movie he wanted to watch... I think it was called Parenthood.  We came in toward the end of it. It had just started before we made the wild trip to Fedex.  The elderly grandmother in the movie came in to a heated discussion between the husband and wife.  The husband play...
