It is a small 9 x 12 painting with blended under tones of muted colors.  I wish I could figure this out in Acrylics.  I want to change over, but the results would never be the same. This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. I know they are in Texas, but this morning we spent the morning with our almost five year old grandson on the square at Southlake Texas.  We danced by the fountains, tossed in coins, and ate huge cinnamon buns at a near by bakery.  As we sat beneath the trees in the shade around 10:30, it was about 75 degrees outside and the wind was from the north and cool.  This is unheard of in Texas in August.   Definitely a summer I will remember and attach it to a previously completed and sold painting, Summer Winds! When you try to drive in a thick fog, you strain your eyes to see through the misty haze, using more intuitive awareness than actual visual awareness.  Scary isn't it?
