This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. It is beautiful.  This is from Sunday Morning around 7:30.  Does not get much prettier waking up to the soft autumn sky.  Can you see the colors from the painting?   The horse photo I used was by Helmut

Summer Winds by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Summer Winds  by Laurie Pace - Sold.  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   Prints Available They say Summer Winds are normally hot. I know they are in Texas, but this morning we spent the morning with our almost five year old grandson on the square at Southlake Texas.  We danced by the fountains, tossed in coins, and ate huge cinnamon buns at a near by bakery.  As we sat beneath the trees in the shade around 10:30, it was about 75 degrees outside and the wind was from the north and cool.  This is unheard of in Texas in August.   Definitely a summer I will remember and attach it to a previously completed and sold painting, Summer Winds! Summer Winds is a contemporary palette knife oil painting of four horses with beautiful summer colors.  “ So may all your enemies perish, LORD! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had peace forty years.

I will add a verse or thoughts to it now as well. Every painting has a purpose, a lesson, a heart string.

Elinor Glyn Life can be filled with times of "haze".  This particular canvas started out with a haze.  I will be sharing progression on it for the next few posts... but it is not done as of this journal.  For the artist that is reading... this is oil using walnut oil with it to blend the subtle colors together. So soft and so not my normal palette.   I have been contemplating the current changes just in my life as it happens, journeying into the life of a grandmother to four little

When you try to drive in a thick fog, you strain your eyes to see through the misty haze, using more intuitive awareness than actual visual awareness.  Scary isn't it? This little collectors piece edges on my Black and White series in miniature. As the paint fell to the surface I felt the movement of the horse more than I actually saw it. My heart knew what to do before my vision did. Learning to trust your intuitive awareness is often difficult. Be centered in your life. Be guided by peace and

Have not painted since I left working on a 4 x 4 ft buffalo. This is a small collectible, just to get my blood pumping again.  Told you there were happenings here at the house. There are, and I promise to be forthcoming in the next few days.  Life changes are always challenging and this one will be for some time ahead. An art group I am a member of is challenging us to painting 30 Days straight if possible. I doubt I will make

It has a fresh freedom both inside and out.  I look forward to working each day because of the joy.  Artist's are often up against a wall with fears and frustrations. I have faced it often. When Terry took down the studio for six weeks and I did not paint, I was actually afraid to do it again. I was worried I would not be able to do it. It has been a long time.  My meditation at that time was focused on peace and discovery of life in creativity.  As a person, an artist, a wife
