This season always brings memories of years past: grandchildren icing sugar cookies, warm cinnamon rolls made from my grandmother’s recipe, and family gathered together. Christmas Eve meant chili, cornbread, and music filling the house as my youngest son and I played guitars and sang carols. Over time, traditions changed. We moved to a smaller home, our children took on hosting holidays, and our house grew quieter. While change is part of life, it isn’t always easy. We miss the laughter, the noise, and the simple joy of grandchildren running through the house. The holidays also remind us of loved ones who are no longer with us.
