Sketches... just found out I have to reverse the horse... so I will be wiping this out and resketching in the opposite direction.  Easy to do as I am working off a photograph and I will take it into Photoshop and reverse it, print it and resketch the image.... watch for the new one. Spur of the moment is usually more like life is, but if you are preparing all along and have a good foundation, you are doing the needed prep work. The grass Terry and I planted is doing fabulously.  We dipped each square of grass in a big tub of fertilizer water of Miracle Grow before we placed it on the ground.  My back hurt for over a week as we laid 150 grass squares.  But this preparation has paid off to solid sod that looks as good as it feels.  The dog loves it. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting :  Preparation for a commission is always important to communicate between the collector and my brain.  This is the first step.  The Thought:  Prep work is important when you are starting a commission piece.  It is essential to make sure you and the client are on the same page when you are beginning a painting for their home.  I spent some time on the phone with this collector and she sent numerous emails with pictures of the room from all angles. I was honored she wanted my artwork among the many pieces she had hanging already. One of the most important pieces to the puzzle is the palette of colors that will be used.
