The Painting:  Worked more on the cowboy today...but spent most of the day scrubbing the studio down. Vicky is staying here while we are gone to mind the manor and fill Paddy with her home cooking. This painting will be on hold until we return.

Life at the Lake:  We are in the countdown mode for leaving this morning for Dallas and the big wedding.  Vicky should be here by nine and we should be on the road after that.  Tonight is the Barbecue at Tara's parents home... tomorrow will be filled with shoe shopping, getting nails done etc. Saturday is the Bridesmaid luncheon and Sunday evening the wedding.  I will be missing the quiet of our little pond and home.

The Thought: We received in the mail our NURSE LINE from American Airlines.  This has been available for many years, but we have never had a need to use it.  The headliner is "No matter where I go Nurse Line is with me."  They included little key tags for your key chain.  So anywhere your keys are, if you are with them, you can call the Nurse Line for health matters.

On the back of the card it says, "If you have health questions or concerns, anytime, day or night, you can call the 24 hour Healthmatters Nurse Line at 1-800-...-....., option 2. It's available at no additional cost to you.  There is also the typical disclaimer, "the 24 hour Nurse line is not a substitute for medical attention. If you have an emergency medical condition please call 911 or your local emergency medical service number."

Well I took some photoshop liberty with this one; they always say a picture is worth more than words:

If I could alter my key cards they would look more like this.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

It has to head to Mirada Fine Art in about three or four weeks... meanwhile it will be banished to the room with the dehumidifier in it.  Stay tuned at Mirada Fine Art with Steve Sonnen for more details about what is happening to this "crowd" from my Good People Series.  In fact, drop Steve an email and ask to be added to the mailing list for this special gathering.  Good food, good friends and good art.   What more could you want?
