Oil on Canvas... the beginnings of a Commission painting

A Painting a Day

CONTACT ME for Commission Work.
Laurie Pace

This is really not the title for this, but the beginnings of a commission piece I am working on.
The collector has an older Appy and a gorgeous Airedale. When I asked about positioning and the relationship between the two, she laughed and said they do not talk or share! They are both jealous of each other...so I chose to use the original pose of the Appy she sent me and put the Airedale at an opposite position with his haughty stance...or should I say naughty stance....if he is ANYTHING like my Kerry Blue Terriers, there is some arrogance there. The Appy has a dark tail and we will be going with VIVID colors in the background with marigolds, crimson reds and greens... very startling effect as the collector desires!

Will post the final painting tomorrow!

The weather is ABSOLUTELY HEAVEN SENT!!! I just walked almost two miles with Talena and will be working on the painting above the rest of the day. Yesterday was teaching...and in the midst of our 2 hour oil painting class we decided to order pizza...oh what fun. My students were all girls yesterday and we gather in the living room on the floors and the couches with pizza, bread sticks and soda! (Can't forget the garlic and cheese!) Last week I made two batches of home made brownies for a birthday...we do no normally eat but we had fun!

Terry was busy working planting two trees in our backyard and a climbing yellow rose bush in the front flower bed. We will go get more soil this afternoon for the beds and the other trees on their way.

Today I should be painting and cleaning, but I think I will paint until one and then go outside and enjoy the day!!!!!

Take a moment to close your eyes and put yourself in the most relaxed place you can imagine...mine is either at the lake or under a shade tree with a breeze blowing....and give thanks for all...for the earth and the skies. This is the time, the weekend to celebrate Earth Day and that is a continuous celebration of respect for the beauty God created for all of us! As an artist I am privileged to explore and give my imitation or reflection of all this beauty.

Grace to all,
Laurie

Comfort
I fill my cup from the deep source of God’s unconditional love within.

“Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure.”—Psalm 16:9

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
