This month I am doing new pieces for Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole. Rick and Hollee have asked me for tall vertical paintings of wolves, bison and horses in earth tones.  So I struggle NOT to paint like rainbow bright!

I chose a wolf with a face fully turned and you will see tomorrow if you watch the slideshow of the paint itself how it evolved to this position in stead.  I slept on it, woke up and came into the studio and changed it all up!
I love doing the layers of thick buttery oils. I never realized how much paint I use on each painting until this year when I watched other artists use so very little paint doing their work. Since the thick palette knife is my signature painting, I will continue with it.

Arrival...Refrigerator?

Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector.
