Looking back to June in 2010... I am remembering this was a commissioned horse painting. I had done a series of these colorful paintings of three horses the year before. It was hot that June in 2010 and I painted it in the back studio of my home overlooking the lake and our catfish pond.  I am up to any commissions if you are ready for something new and 'hot' in your life!

"Hot town, summer in the city - Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty. Been down, isn't it a pity - Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city." 1966 The Lovin Spoonful

Still today, I find myself confronted by unexpected challenges in our daily life and learning to lean more minute by minute with the Lord.  I know this is happening to many of you, although the circumstances may be different. Groceries are up close to 40% more than I spent last year. Insurance for the house and cars is up over 40% from last year. Utilities are up  up up from last year. The one thing NOT UP, is our regular income.  There was no 40% increase in social security, and there certainly have not been many paintings selling recently.  How about you... what are you confronting?

In the midst of the challenging circumstances that continuously surround us, it is our unyielding faith in the Lord God that sustains us. When the storms of life rage on and turmoil threatens to consume our life, it is through abiding with Him in the gentle embrace of quietness and trust that we discover our true strength.

“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength.." Isaiah 30:15
(a favorite verse for me)

In those haunting moments of uncertainty and occasionally despair, I have learned instinctively I MUST turn to the Lord, seeking His unwavering guidance and solace. For He offers both you and me a refuge, a sacred sanctuary where our battered hearts find respite from the relentless chaos.  It is there within the arms of our Heavenly Father that we each can experience a peace so profound, so utterly transformative, that it transcends the very landscape of this troubled world. In that sacred space, I have learned to lean on His promises, to embrace His divine wisdom, and to trust in His unfailing love.

He arms us with His divine armor as we gather the courage to persevere through the trials we face, knowing that we are not alone on this treacherous journey. Deep within our hearts we know that our Heavenly Father walks beside us, guiding our steps, and lighting the way. He holds our trembling hands, reminding us of His unwavering presence, and filling our souls with a renewed sense of hope.

Trials will continue to test each of us, and sorrow threatens to burden us, yet we must stand firm in our faith, knowing He is with us every step of the way.

His love knows no bounds.
His strength knows no limits.

Today,  let us strengthen our faith and nurture it with every breath we take.  Breathe.  The peace is from Him. By doing this in practice, you can deepen your connection with Him, and open a world of endless possibilities—a world where the storms of life cannot consume us, where despair cannot drown us. In this world, our faith becomes the guiding force.

For thus the Lord has told me, “I will look from My dwelling place quietly Like dazzling heat in the sunshine, Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”
Isaiah 18:4

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert and Shelia at the Southlake Lowe's in Appliances

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me” I can only speak for mys

Piano Girls

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Girl on Piano Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Our prayers are with the southeastern Gulf coast as a hurricane approaches. We have family and friends in this area. This painting was a more impressionistic piece than the Girl on Piano pieces from 2008-2010.  It is the tilt of the head and the precious lift of the hand with the outer small finger delicately angled. Not quite old enough to be using pedals, her feet are crossed below the bench. Back in the day of my lessons and playing in the late fifties and early sixties, young girls wore dresses. I miss those days. I still prefer dresses over pants today... even my studio jeans.  One of my modern girl on Piano pieces.... "Playing for Papa" These make incredible gifts for the holidays using music that is important to you or to the person receiving the gift. In the midst of commissions right now.  I loved playing for my grandmother and my Dad.  Shop other Av
