The Seed

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." 2 Corinthians 9:6

The summer heat has been harsh on our yard and our flowers. We are in round two of sowing more Zinnia seeds. As you can see in the photo above, it is EASY to cull out seeds from the dead or dying blooms and have seeds for more blooms this year or saving them for next year.  The last few years we have not had much luck with our Zinnia beds.

The seeds above are from our Marigolds. These are helpful for gardens in reproduction by bringing in 'helpers' to pollinate. They also reduce bugs in the area.  I did not know till this weekend how many seeds were in one marigold bloom... Let's just say fifty plus, or maybe one hundred plus.  I will continue to harvest seeds for the fall and for next spring from all the varieties I can!

The Seed in Life

These are our Zinnias from five years ago. We had them thick thick thick and the amazing draw was for butterflies to come and enjoy them! There was no planned color, just a kaleidoscope of color.  I realize in life you have to be more grounded when planting. We also had a beautiful garden in the house across the street.

Seeding is a part of life... in garden, in the yard and in our life itself.  Some seeds have a gestation period of 5-7 days, and others may have 10 days or two weeks.  We learn patience from seeding, esp seeding our food garden! We have to allow seeds time to grow and bloom out in front of us. In the case above... I threw out a mix of seeds not knowing what was pink, or yellow or orange or red... and time would only tell.  Patience was rewarded with lusty bright colors.

This is true in life when we decided to chose a direction and plant a seed for the future. It is a life teaching event.

As we embark on the journey of planting seeds in life with God at our side, we often find ourselves yearning for growth and fulfillment. It is in these moments that we realize the importance of planting seeds in our lives. These seeds symbolize our dreams, aspirations, and desires, waiting to be nourished and developed.

Just like a delicate plant, we carefully choose the environment in which to plant our seeds. We seek out rich soil, the foundation that serves as a fertile ground for our dreams to take root. We ensure that this soil is filled with talks with God, nutrients, strength, and resilience, providing a solid base for our aspirations to flourish.

In planting we understand the significance of sunlight exposure, as it represents the knowledge and experiences that illuminate our path. With each ray of light from the Father, our growth is fueled, and our dreams begin to take shape. Through learning, self-reflection, and observation, we navigate the complexities of life, soaking in the warmth that guides us towards God’s true purpose for us.

Slowly we begin to witness change in us and around us. We marvel as things emerge in front of us or inside of us. The seeds we planted have started to bear fruits, reflecting the dedication and effort we have invested into this process with prayer along the way. We see the vibrant colors of change, feel the sweet taste of growth, and experience the fulfillment that comes from bringing our dreams to every day life.

Recognizing all of this came through the Lord, we celebrate and give thanks for our hard work and determination, with our unwavering belief in God for this to bloom so brightly. We embrace all the growth that has occurred, not only externally but also within our own souls. The growth has sprouted a gift directly from our Father. It is in this moment of realization that we understand the true essence of the path in our lives as our dreams become our reality.

Let us continue to plant seeds in our lives, helping not just ourselves but others by giving our light to other newly planted seeds. But remember, chose your seeds wisely. God wants us to serve others as we grow through our lives. It is not just about us.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
