I do believe my daughter starts her day with my blog and goes into a panic mode when it is not up by seven a.m. I was busy again. I was watering plants in my garden room, sketching out paintings to work on this week, making a list for what has to be completed by my July 12th show in Jackson Wyoming at the Rare Gallery, checking for airline reservations, hotel reservations etc etc etc.

BUT meanwhile I had been layering and working on the painting posted. It is a new trial and error thing with glazing over old music from great granddaddy Haskell. This particular music was marked 1909 with renewal in 1936. Pretty old music I might say. I chose the Song HAPPY BIRTHDAY, but not the one you are thinking of. This was for Mrs. Corinne Rider-Kelsey. I guess back then they hyphenated names too. The music was written by R Hunting Woodmire I believe. Had paint over part of his name. I can't help but wonder if they were lovers.

The song was:
My heart is like a singing bird, whose nest is in a watered shoot; my hear is like an apple-tree, whose boughs are bent with thick-set fruit.
My heart is like a rainbow shell, that paddles in a a halcyon sea; my heart is gladder than all of these, because my love is come to me.

The third verse is hard to read but it talks of peacocks, grapes and silk...and how the love of her life came to see her on her birthday. The poetry/song was signed by Christina Rossetti. I filled in some empty spaces with a song called Serenade of the Little Ducks. I chose to paint a young girl performing at her first recital and though perhaps the Duck Serenade might have been her song of choice.

I plan to experiment further with this technique and this one will have several more layers of paint on it. Divine order will prevail!

Do you allow it in your life? We are always so busy controlling our schedules and others around us that we force many things to push through in our lives. Often we should do the opposite and allow the Lord to be in control. Cooperating, or releasing and allowing Him to work will bring a peace into your life. Divine Order is present.

Grace,
Laurie

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
