Shadows
Oil on Canvas by Laurie Pace
This precious painting entitled Shadows was packed up and recently found. It truly needs a home, but not sure it would call to many readers. This was painted in 2004. We had our 4 year old grandson living with us and most likely He was on the beautiful back porch eating when I took a photo of him but used it in a dramatic way. Hanging out on my easel right now and I am enjoying the solitude. I will eventually put it on my website for sale.
Hebrews 13: 5-6 "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
I think most of us have a need for money... it pays the bills and feeds us. Yet too often, it is entangled with materialism and greed and more. God truly wants us to be content with what we have and be thankful for it.
He promises us "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." This is echoed from through the Old Testament. God is consistent.
As I have grown older, I have studied deeper into scripture and grown solid in my faith. I have never wanted for a big home, or expensive cars or expensive clothes. We have decluttered things from our home to lessen our footprint and I donate it all the time, adding more to a drop off to Good Will. My moment by moment mantra is this thought from God, "I will never leave you or forsake you." Elle
